And MORE Yay!

Fixed: VWR-2491: Save snapshot should save in PNG, BMP, or JPEG

(Can't wait to see if that is true!)

I've been using the 1.21 RCs along the way, and I have to say that it is by far the most stable client for a long, long time.
Additionally, the many small usability enhancements which have accumulated over this version and the 1.20 really makes a difference. Lots of small things which just work nicely.

Kudos to LL and the open-sourcers for continuing the trend they started in the 1.20. The enhancements are noticeable.

I will say this. Hubby started crashing every few seconds on 1.20.xxx whatever it is we're on. I put the current RC on his computer yesterday, and so far, he's been able to stay online. *knocks wood*

Yep, this has been in the RC's for a while now. About time too, BMP's are huge!

For me, I was looking forward to the new llDetected functions hitting mainstream so we can start using them in products. No more 100 prim interfaces!

The one fix I *didn't* see is VWR-8920: Moving the camera around, or zooming in on an avatar, some attachments 'disappear' from view. That one's a deal-breaker for me. I guess I'll try installing it in a separate folder and see how it behaves.

Love the other fixes, though, if they work and don't break something else.

Yeah, that and the camera bounce thing are seriously starting to piss me off, I hope it's fixed soon.

Definitely some nice fixes in this one. Both the Mac and Win versions are working smoothly for me.

I installed it last night on both my computer and my husband's. No crashing, smoothest SL experience I've had in weeks.

There was a new source drop for 1.21 yesterday so it's possible that that 1.21.6 download won't be what actually gets released as the official viewer so make sure to compare the build numbers when it does come out :).

Question- anyone note if this one is as slow or faster than the last mandatory security download? The latest has made me crawl worse...

Rezzing and inventory fetching (which causes viewer freezes) seem noticeably worse.

With regard to rezzing I'm wondering if it's not merely due to the priority boost sculpties get now though. They do rez faster/first now, but everything else rezzes slower as a result.

Looks like the exact same one (from the build number anyway) so looks like we're fine :).

I think it is somewaht faster. With most of the graphics settings maxxed, yet while on a pretty poor Windows machine with an aging AGP Nvidia graphics card, I was getting about 20 FPS yesterday. Not bad for the hardware. On my Mac, it didn't seem slow at all, but I have a really high-end Mac with a great video card.
