I have proof that LL sells abandoned 16 sq.m. lots to bots.

The crime is the way this company runs the world it created. I know, I know, I should just shut up, pay my tier and be grateful.

I'm not quick to LL bash, but there's a lot to what you say. I still have a little hope that they will pull this thing together and LL will reach the potential it should. I think it's more likely a competitor will come along (sooner rather than later) and this place is going to be deserted. It'd be pretty easy to see how to have a well run Virtual World - Just look at SL and do much of the opposite.

Even when the competition comes in, I will probably stick it out here and hope it lights a fire under them to provide a better product. Unless my inventory, sim and friends list is transferrable to the new platform, I'm stuck with the world I decided to invest all this time and money in.

I think that's exactly what it's going to take. I hope for all our sakes that the better product is the result. I like it here even with all its damn flaws.

You can't buy first unless you are a landbot owner. But you made me laugh (in a good way). :)

The Mainland is getting pretty deserted already. I spent a little time tonight flitting around the western continents with the Map open. The gradually increasing price of land notwithstanding, it sure seems that there's even more yellow out there than there was when they were dumping sims to auction. Yeah, a lot of it is unrealistically priced, yet it's vacant except the For Sale signs.

That might be okay for LL, since they're collecting tier on it, but then there's a lot of purple, too. Well, eventually all that will get onto the ever-lengthening auction page, get bought, and LL gets tier again, just like it's supposed to work.

Except--I also kept bumping into vacant parcels owned by Governor, not yet with auction IDs. I know they're trying to work those down, but by my unscientific sampling, there seems quite an abundant supply of them. All this should be reflected in the statistics, I suppose, but... honestly, there are vast stretches of the Mainland where, one way or another, there's just *nothing*. Or, if there's a road, there will be a border of adplots in a sim full of nothing. And this is the western continents; I haven't had the heart to look at the newer ones yet.

So, best I can tell, there's no rush to bring new sims to auction. And that can't be good for LL, if the tier base doesn't keep expanding. I really hope they start running this like a business--and I see some signs they intend to, but they better do it before they have a whole grid full of garbage that nobody wants to see, let alone pay tier to own. There's some critical mass of crappiness--once it reaches that point, I'm not sure there's any way to recover. And I'm not sure how far we are from that point, either.

Wow. I wonder if this is a sign of a very depressed SL economy that they are hoping we won't pick up on. But I guess as long as the base price remains steady, there's no need to panic. Plus the bank policy has not affected the market yet in any observable fashion.

This is not news, sadly. They do whatever takes the least amount of thinking and effort. If the Ninja land group bought them, they won't be turned into adfarms. Hope their bots got to them first.

But they will be set for sale and then become ad lots. Most of the bot runners don't buy below 512 meters, and most dealers donate anything this small if they end up with it to arbor project. Ninja are very fair about returning errors and such, but they do sell the tiny parcels like this.

Well I know you always do the right thing. You cemented your reputation long ago as the most trusted, honest, fair and hardest working land broker in SL. And of course, the prettiest. :)

No-one wants to buy land in a sim with adfarms. It's as simple as that. The logical outcome is a mainland largely devoid of residents who have fled to the island estates and a mainland of malls, businesses and adfarms with a few older enclaves (Lusk, Tehama, Darkwood, etc., fighting a rearguard action.

Because the mainland is totally unregulated it has deteriorated into a battleground of conflicting interests. Maybe that's what LL wants. I really don't know but it puts premium-account residents who can't afford a full sim in an unpleasant predicament: put up and shut up as regards the encroaching cancer of adfarms or move to an island estate where you have no security of tenancy and a redundant premium account.

Should this title be " There is Proof LL runs lots of bots. "?

No, the title is "LL doesn't truly care about mainland."

Maybe we could re-brand the mainland as 'Wallet Wars' and sell tickets?

I love the sell catch llabs was telling people that were on mainland and told them if they had griefter problems they said they can police themselfs if the bought a island of their own.........The catch phase was You "lock the griefter in and take care of matters Yourselves". Well that selling pitch didnt last long soon after some island owners where harrassing people just for fun. These days lies are main stay with the caompany and us the unkowing and sometimes misleaded........Mainland problems are bad, but so are island problems special the unknowing people renting thinking they are owning.............
