See thread "How to make an SL movie, Torley style", at /327/27/266017/1.html for a useful discussion on making SL video. For just making a simple clip the CamStudio program was about as easy as possible. I installed CamStudio, took a short video clip, signed up with blip.tv, uploaded the clip, and played it in SL, in no more than 30 minutes from start to finish. I don't know if blip.tv really wants SL videos there. I'm not sure if the file was streaming, such that everyone sees the same part of the video at roughly the same time. Fraps works nicely but Fraps files are huge; you will need to convert them from Fraps format to something else. One thing mentioned in the wiki is the Alt-Zoom camera, created by BuhBuhCuh Fairchild. There's a link to an inworld site for the Alt-Zoom camera, and there there's a link to slbusinessmag.com , a site which is now defunct. Does Snag-It or Irfanview do video captures? I know Irfanview does still captures, and timed repeated still captures, but I don't recall if does video clips.

it works it is just a matter of having the right video codec for the file.. i can't remember the name of the codec i used but 9 times out of ten if you have it running but can't see it then it's a video codec.
