Welcome to SL and the forums, greggs! The first day I arrived on SL I wore a Swiss Chalet on my head (well considering the size, basically my whole body) until I could figure out how to get it off. I taught computer classes for 12 years (ok, no one laugh) and had played EQ for 7 years, but SL was a whole different thing. From: Eveline Nixdorf I always send noobs to Natalia's blog for help, ranging from the basic to so advanced I don't remotely understand it, but all in friendly english: http://www.mermaiddiaries.com/This is EXCELLENT advice! Natalia explains everything with GREAT advice on most any subject. Also Torley Linden's videos http://torley.com/category/multimedia/videos

While I realize that the initial LL supplied Orientation Island thing is not very well done, if new people would actually spend some time there, going beyond the initial basic tests, and go into the pavilions and look and try things they would know how to wear a hat or unpack a box before even getting onto the mainland.
But, people are so impatient these days and want instant gratification so they skip all that and then complain that they don't know how to do things in SL.
