I have a question about selling part of group owned land. I am part of a group and I and another person own just about equal amounts of our property. Just the 2 of us. I would like to leave the group and sell my part of the land. The other person cant buy it, so could I just sell it to anyone?? Can I just put parts up for sale?? How does all this work?? I dont want to be paying for it anymore. Anyone a group land expert???

Group land is tricky at best.
If you want to sell the land, you need take it out of the group land pool by selling it to your self. then you can list and sell it as you.
You need to remember to also remove your land donation to the group or you will end up getting charged double by LL.
If you sell it while its in group ownershitp all the contibuting land holders get a piece of the sale.
Now. be VERY carefull if you plan to sell it to your self to actually do the steps of selling it ONLY to you for 1 L. If you allow anyone to purchase it for 1 l then there is a good chance a land bot will steel it from you and they do not care that you where transfering it to your self they will not give it back.
Now, if you just want to abandon the land, and not take ownership just not be billed.. then you simply go to the group properties that actually owns the land, and remove your donation on the land tab. The group will be lible for the excess land and will need to make up the difference, so you need to let them know your doing it cause you could cause them problems if you don't give them a heads up first.

Remember to remove your tier donation to the group BEFORE you sell it to yourself or you will get charged tier twice for the same land. It is OK if the group goes into tier default for the few minutes that it's going to take you to sell the land to yourself. The Lindens will not take the land from the group without first sending an email to the group owners to warn about tier default.
