Just a simple reaction: I agree. The only legitimate way would be for example: a Farrah Fawcett tribute item with all profits going into RFL. I've had a RFL vendor with bracelets to honor Farrah Fawcett while she was still alive. I was saddened that only 1 person donated. _____________________

You don't have to "look thru their screens and into their minds" because its OBVIOUS. Charging for a tribute item for profit is disrespectful, low class and scummy. Simple. Why weren't there TRIBUTE items BEFORE his death? Afterall, like him or not.. he DID accomplish a lot in LIFE not DEATH. Simple. Why is it low class and scummy to sell people things they want to buy? Why does it matter that they are linked to a person who recently died? Isn't the problem with the people who rabidly buy this crap up when someone dies? _____________________

I dunno. Personally I don't see anything at all wrong with it. These merchants realized that there would be a demand for a product and produced it. That's pretty smart. Michael Jackson's name, image, likeness, music, and anything else you can think of that invokes Michael Jackson pretty much is copyrighted and trademarked. Also MJ's attorneys have stated they will viciously be pursuing copyright/trademark infringements. Right now, they're like kids with popguns in a shooting gallery. _____________________

I think Al Sharpton is worst than any of the tribute sellers. He's not planning MJ funeral, he's planning his own day in the spotlight. We probably will see more of Al Sharpton and Joe Jackson than MJ at the funeral.

I don't see what's wrong with capitalism. Jackson didn't earn his money by giving his music away. Why should content creators be forced to give their work away? They did create those items, even if they were inspired by Jackson's work.
Also it's normal and it's human nature since recorded time, to honor the dead and to speak well of them once they are dead. It is a time when the loss is keenly felt, and all the good things the person had to offer are put up fresh in the mind in bold relief, with the knowledge there will be no more, ever. So lighten up Francis(es). _____________________
