i see SL fading away like Activeworlds and ppl running their own OpenSimulator and able to teleport to each others servers kinda like the internet, and google will have a teleport search engine for OpenSimulator 3D internet What a good idea. I think you should send this suggestion to Google. I bet I can even do this in the office! BT |

Princess Leia: Governor Tarkin, I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash. I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board.
Governor Tarkin: Charming to the last. You don't know how hard I found it, signing the order to terminate your life. Princess Leia: I'm surprised that you had the courage to take the responsibility yourself. Governor Tarkin: Princess Leia, before your execution, you will join me at a ceremony that will make this battle station operational. No star system will dare oppose the Emperor now. Princess Leia: The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers. |

...Hair should be left mod, though - its really not hard to mod it and hair is actually pretty easy to make by any relatively talented sculptor. Things like jewelry and shoes are pretty hard to mod for an average user however. I've been experimenting with permissions to see which ones may be better. I'm considering a tiered pricing system... might work better. No mod + scripts for some, mod + scripts for more money. This. I was mainly talking about hair and clothing parts (prim collars, cuffs, and sleeves) earlier. I can actually see the usefulness of scripted resize in jewelry and shoes - but... they need to include a script killing function for when one has it at the correct size. A lot of them that I've seen currently don't appear to. _____________________

actually, that's not really true. Copybot works regardless :/ Which is why I said 'slow down', not 'stop' copybotters: I knew someone would swoop in to correct me otherwise. I'm drawing from past thread discussions in this very forum, in which designers debated scripts vs. modding for their items. The reason, some said, they used scripts in their skirts for example, was because it made things all too easy for the copybots otherwise. Kinda like putting 'the club' on your steering wheel, I guess. Will it stop a determined pro? Maybe not but it will deter some others. *shrugs* |
