From: Elanthius Flagstaff [11:05] Elanthius Flagstaff: Jack, OK, you started enforcing this policy 3 or 4 weeks ago and yet the worst abuser who has about 123k in traffic and appears top in the search for the contentious "furniture" category still has 2 massive boxes full of bots. What's going on? Have you even spoken to them? I just checked #1 and #2. #1 doesn't have enough bots to account for that much traffic (there'd have to be 86 people there 24 hrs), so maybe action was taken just today. #2 has a free sex club, and though there seems to be lots of chat bots there are at least some humans there. Two responded to a Turing test. It'd be tough to take action not knowing how many of them are bots. And lag pretty much kills the whole sim. There were 101 people there when I visited.

Thank you very much, Elan. I appreciate it.
It looks like Jack's response was just words for the sake of giving an answer, or people with boxes full of Caspers are claiming that they all real people that are afk. huh. Why didn't I think of that LMAO. The short answer is that they've done nothing - unless Anya's observation indicates something.

[11:21 SLT]What's going on with the traffic bot policy? No visible action as far as anyone can tell so far [11:22 SLT] Jack Linden: Elanthius, as i said in the post to begin with we're letting people know about the blog post and explaining that they will need to comply. [11:23 SLT] Jack Linden: Once they have had a reasonable time to do that, we'll begin to take action where there has been no change [11:25 SLT] Jack Linden: Elanthius, i was looking around earlier today at some of the ones that I originally looked at - some have changed but most haven't. Let's give the team some time to start enforcing and see where we are in a few weeks
Pretty annoying, just get on with it already.

Pretty annoying, just get on with it already. lol A go slow policy then....a few weeks.....then into a few months!! i think they want to smooth that login curve like I said....hopefully the new users arriving will offset the Bots they clear out on a week on week basis. If they placed a change in LL policy on the Login screen with links to foreign translations.....most of the traffic gaming will go by itself without any LL intervention at all. Most people would not risk an account suspension if they're a serious SL participant.

Pretty annoying, just get on with it already. A reasonable time to comply? How long does it take to close a programme? "Let's give the team some time to start enforcing and see where we are in a few weeks". So another month is scheduled for inaction. They are really getting stuch into it with a passion.

I've just assumed the policy was nothing more than a request that people make their bots look more realistic so the grid doesn't look ridiculous. I've assumed there would be generous slack time in the enforcement to allow people to adjust their bot strategy without actually eliminating any bots.
I'd be delighted to be proven wrong, and see LL actually take a hit to the concurrency numbers for the good of the platform, but I'm not counting on that. No frickin' way.

I suggested it before, and I'm completely serious: I wish LL would just let people fill in any traffic number they want, so they wouldn't have to use bots. That, and I'd be delighted if LL would simply falsify the concurrency number to any degree they wanted.
