What legal, fun games are there to play in SL?
It's legal to steal Linden Labs shuttlecraft.

I've heard of Zyngo (sp?) but I don't know what it is.

It's a really sweet deal for one person (Aargle Zymurgy) who was handed a monopoly on gambling in SL. It's a wink-wink-nod-nod arrangement where casino operators simply had to trade their old machines for new ones, at L2500 a pop, to continue operating. Most of them missed the winking and nodding and closed shop, dumping a lot of land on the market a couple years ago, but they or their replacements are back in business, keeping the Zyngo monopoly alive.

My best guess is that if games are in SL they must be legal or LL would sling them out.I could be wrong though.

Wrong.

Nah. There is no monopoly and no conspiracy. There are plenty of other gambling games by other creators. The key is to simply make sure they superficially look different than any of the well known gambling games that exist in the real world. Then Linden Lab will play dumb and pretend it isn't gambling and spout out some laughable drivel about a skills exception that doesn't even exist in its wagering policy.

Internet gambling, btw, is not illegal in the United States. That is widely held misconception, but the only thing illegal under federal law is the facilitation by financial institutions (e.g. banks) of funding to sites that engage in "unlawful internet gambling" under existing laws which is a vague and circular definition inasmuch as the whole problem the federal government had originally in trying to prosecute cases against internet gambling was that the courts said there were no existing federal laws outlawing most forms of internet gambling. As a result the UIGEA basically relies on state laws which are in all likelihood inapplicable in most situations due to preemption.

Although this is a commonly held belief by most legal scholars, the potential liabilities for banks is not a risk they want to bear, so they have for the most part simply opted to not allow funding to any internet gambling sites.

It's a stupid law because it doesn't even stop people from gambling online. They just find an alternate way to get their money in and out of the site like using virtual credit cards or having their money funnelled from their bank account to a third party company outside the jurisdiction of the US which then funds the players account at the online site for the same amount.

I think I ran across [Frootcake] at some Tiny store but didn't get what it was. It sounds familiar.

Frootcake is one of the Procyon Games which is very popular with the Tiny community right now. It's a game where you pass cakes around a table and try to end up with the least. You can find more info about the game on my website: http://playprocyon.com/sl/frootcake
