An awful story, sad to hear you lost your pets. If getting back on Second Life helped you deal with it, great. That's the point of it I guess. A new computer would not be high on my first things to replace yet, I'd be looking to replace my wine supply and proceed to empty it myself. It's nice to hear people helping out, though.

May you find comfort and strength in the love of your dear ones, both online and, hopefully soon, in the real world. You're wise to look at this in terms of doing what you can do, right now, with the resources available to you. Leaving the rest for its own good time is the best thing you can possibly do. Blessed be.

*hugs* Here's hoping life sends you a new puppy (or kitten) soon.

It must be nice to come into SL and see that you still have all your shoes, even if they are up your butt now and then. :)

Proof that friends are friends whether they are online or not. I'm sorry to hear of your losses, Honey, and wish you all the best as you rebuild. Now's the time when you can lean on your friends and family for support and love, and we're here for you.

*hugs*

Very sorry to hear about your loss and especially the loss of your pets. But I understand what you mean about SL. The support I received here when my mom died was very special to me and really helped maybe the most of anything. We have our love/hate relationship with SL sometimes but I think that's only because we've made some really good friends and had some wonderful experiences so when all that is constricted by SL issues we get very disappointed.

Sorry to hear this, and especially about your pets. Very inspiring story, though, thank you for telling it.

Beautiful post. My land in Second Life has become like a second home to me. Like a place I can go on vacation whenever I want, well, mostly when I want :) I can certainly understand why you wanted to get back on SL after losing everything else that was familiar to you.

Please provide a link to your tip jar, I'm sure I'm not the only one here who would like to help you.

There are two, actually. One can be found at Summertime Blues Club, and the other can be found at Crystal Coast Night Club. Both have pictures of me on them.

I really want to thank all of you for your kind words and encourage you to embrace all the love you find in life....no matter which life it may be :)

I'm actually pretty much a "keep to myself" kind of person in RL. My first instinct in times of tragedy is to hole up by myself and lick my wounds. The outpouring of love and money from the community is almost difficult for me to take...but my friends feel the need to do something to help, and my love for each of them will allow that, however humbled or embarrassed I feel by it. I know that it helps them to help me.

Please please please, do whatever each of you can to safeguard your cherished family heirlooms.

sorry to hear about your loss and I am happy for you that you have ppl to turn to

I too am going through a rough period right now in my life, with things very much up in the air (not gonna go into details here on the forums)

suffice to say I do not know from one day to the next where I will be, and SL gives me a much needed distraction.

I wish you well, hold onto those friends, and even more so, hold onto the family you did not lose (sorry to hear about your loss of the pets)

Oh Honeybear, I'm so sorry you have to go through this, especially the loss of your pets.
But what a blessing that you and your spouse are ok. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. *big hug*

(((Honey))) I too am sorry to hear of this & also about your pets; that's so hard to deal with at the best of times, I can only imagine what you're going through. I'm glad that SL is helping you, I know it's been a lifeline for me & the people here. I wish you all the best & hope that the insurance company will get everything underway. I don't know you but if you ever need someone to listen i'm here & you'll be in my thoughts. tc S x

Honeybear.....I'm so very very sorry to hear about this.... Thank God that you and your husband are safe. I'm glad though that you have good friends and community in SL to comfort you...

People are people, whether they move in RL or in a virtual world like SL....and I'm glad that you had your home in SL to fall back to .... it's so much more than pixels.

You know what...if this had happened to me, I would probably get a new computer first thing too....so enjoy SL as much as you possibly can untill all the RL stuff gets sorted.....it really is such a wonderful place and a great community...

I can fully understand how it must have felt to log back in and find everything as it should be after such a tragic ordeal. Yes, SL can be an excellent place to heal and visually replace the recent ugly pictures that you've had to face.

On lighter note, I hope you bought a honked up computer and your picture now is as beautiful as SL will allow!

Well, I thought I did, but the nVidia 8500 isn't working as well as I hoped, and the 8600 I bought to upgrade to seems to be missing a plug, so I'm taking the whole mess back in on Friday and telling them to fix it and add another stick of memory while they're at it, and that SHOULD make it right. ;)

Thank gawd for plastic, huh? lol

HoneyBear, I am so very sorry to hear about your home and all you lost. I admire your wonderful outlook, and I know it will make such a huge difference as you and your husband look to the future and make plans.

*hugs*
