You need to curve the shadow of the trees so they go under the water. That wouldn't be quite the same as shadows on water, but it would look a bit more realistic.

This cant be done couse putting under would make alpha problems .

Try it. :)

Hint: the surface of Windlight water isn't an alpha layer.

Gorgeous! Soothing and hypnotic like watching real waves, I can almost feel the negative ions. I can tell you love the ocean, like I do. Thank you for making this beautiful thing.

I think what OP is saying is that the waves he created are alpha, not the Linden water.

And back to the point, which was what we think of the waves, ;) they look lovely in the picture and I look forward to checking them out in world.

This is not the right place to advertise your new products. What if all content creators and other wave makers started to spam this forum !

I would have thought a seasoned content creator such as a yourself would know this was inappropriate. It degrades your product and brand

This thread is SPAM !

Well, yeah, the thread is in the wrong sub-forum, but there's pretty much no hope of getting a moderator to move it at this point. The original post did make me wince a bit, but I imagined a scenario where somebody from NPIRL (where this product was recently featured) maybe suggesting "hey, you should post something on the Forums."

Anyway, they're beautiful waves; I only wish I had enough coastline to really be able to use them.

Looks very good!

Strictly speaking, the trees would cast a shadow on the seabed under the water AND a faint shadow on the surface of the water, depending on how clear the water is, plus, of course, a reflection, which wouldn't neccessarily be in the same place as the shadow!

FWIW, I've liked your work for some time, Naiman. We have some of the older ones over on Livingtree, and will have to look into the new ones for same. I was 'ported over there tonight by a Linden as well, who wanted to share with me your work. She called it "hypnotic."

Keep up the good work. I recall a while back when you posted, dismayed with the openspace policy change and copying of your wave ideas. Glad you've stuck it out.

Water Caustics generator
04-20-2009 04:01
Since we are advertising water products in this thread - here is a link to the water caustic generator. It produces the lovely shimmery water effects that you see some content developers using in their SL products. This is such a fun tool and so easy to use !

Naiman, those of us who didn't just register yesterday have followed your wave stories and are aware of your more than likely NOT advertising intent. As usual, a fantastic result. I cannot wait to walk along that beach and perhaps ride a horse as well :D

I am also not posting to showcase the water caustics generator. This thread is about water and like you I am just interested to hear what people think of this water caustics generator. I don't make this tool and have no vested interest.

I do think your waves are rather good but come on - to suggest that you are not advertising your products is somewhat amusing.
Rather tasty spam, with a side order of spam !

Ur posting is just abusive and irrespectouse , you should just go elsewhere to spam on purpouse and disrupt threads , this thread is about the new rework I did on Las arenas , accept it or not its not the theme of the discussion and what you are trying is just to ruind and bring ot a topic so please retain from that and post elsewhere , thanks.

For my money you DO have the best waves in Second Life without doubt.

They are beautiful and enhance the beaches greatly. The only problem I have with them is placing them, I've tried and tried and I can never get them to look as good as they do on your island!

But that's my problem not yours, please keep the great work coming.

Oh, and your palm trees and banana plants and rocks and beach furniture are the best out there too!

Can you tell I love your work?
:)
