Me and my SL Wife are looking for fun places to go, and things to do as a couple to hopefully brighten our rather unpleasant day so far. I would like to know what fun and relaxing activities are out there for a couples other than dancing?

Thanks in advance.

Go to Apollo or Svarga and explore together. Appollo is especially nice for couples and it's PG...PG 13. I assume you aren't looking for something "adult" to do together. Is the Carnival of Doom still around? That was a pretty funny place to go play. Try sailing together. Go out of the Forum Hangout and there are several water sims to play in. Strawberry....damn Strawberry something...There's an island that has a whole heckton of stuff to do, from hanggliding to skydiving to hanging out at the bar, etc... I'll try to dig it up and post here.

Take a baloon ride! That's pretty fun.

You can visit Zoo's ( A Dinosaur one is one of the newest) plus ther's a Astronomy thingy place where you can ride a planet which is very cool. I'll IM you the landmark when I get in SL shortly.

There are lots of parks to visit - you can also go skiing/skating, or look up some cafe's and other hangouts - the SL worls is a wide place so have fun exploring! :)

Like Trout said, Strawberry Island -- LOTS of fun. Dolphin Reef,...and ditto Kaia's suggestion -- the zoos are great. I have tons of LMs, happy to send them when I am inworld.

Thanks Trout, 3Ring, Kaia, I will look into those. Kaia, we tried Zoo and Aquarium hopping before and have been fairly disappointed, but if you could send me some landmarks for some really good ones that would be great! Sailing sounds fun, would have to get my own boat.

I second Apollo, lovely place.

Romantic Joy is gorgeous. i think if you search for Joy it shows as Joy Isle. There is dancing and you can wander around etc. There is even a chapel.

Lost Gardens of Apollos has been mentioned but I have to add that you need to take the magic carpet ride around the island. It's very romantic.

Acropolis Gardens is also wonderful to explore, take the flying tour, then walk through on foot to find the romantic spaces.

You're very welcome to make use of Wayward Strand ... whilst it's still reliably secluded.

Valinor. Not PG or PG-13 necessarily, but some of the more intmate places are not exposed to just anyone flying by.

It's a great place to explore and have a wonderful time.

Thanks everyone. All the help really brightened my day. In the end we ended up doing balloon tours, Linden Village and Lost Lake, then settled down to a nice relaxed evening followed by early morning shopping.

Some things my Partner and I enjoy:

*Laser Tag - Great fun!!

*Rollercoasters

*Horseback Riding - Sometimes exploring places one has already been on horseback seems a lot more fun (Caledon is a great place for that)

*Surfing

*Ice Skating - and throwing snowballs at each other

*Quests - (Pot Healer Adventure/Broken Harp Quest/Mata Hari Quest/Gion Project)

*Something we really enjoy is dressing for the theme of a particular sim, ie. - Medieval, Victorian, our "dark trench coat looks" for those more "dangerous areas", Western attire for country dance clubs, 50's attire (pony tail and poodle skirt for me) for 50's dance spots, 1940's vintage attire for jazz clubs, Japanese attire for exploring Asian sims, etc. It really helps us feel "in the era."

*Roleplay - We both have several size dragon avatars for Isle of Wyrms; Medieval attire for Avilion and Everwind and yes, we even visit friends in friendly, no kill/capture/non-violent Gorean sims on occasion. :)

And many of the above places/activities are SO MUCH more enjoyable using the Rendezvous vehicle hud. It allows couples to walk together, fly together, swim together, can be carried or ride piggyback, nice sweet kisses and hugs, stargazing animation, and I think 3 dances. We LOVE ours!! If anyone would like to see a demonstration of it, please IM me in world and would be happy to show it! (Or for that matter any of the lm's or info for the above, just send a forum IM or IM me in world!)

The *sticky wall* at AOL is always fun as is the other attractions and theater there. Or take a balloon ride around ImagineNation or a canoe ride. Hmmm now do a search for skiing or snowskating...there's almost anything you can think of!

I will also plug Cocololo Island. Lovely resort, with scuba diving, a boat tour, hot air balloon ride, a spa... really lovely.
