As the UK has recently introduced a smoking ban in public places, I assume that Linden Labs with its policy of applying RL laws to SL, will shortly enforce a smoking ban, at least in non-restricted areas. Or will landowners be able to flag their land smoking or non-smoking? Soon as they figure out how to make it so you can ACTUALLY smoke in Second Life - instead of just simulate it. They can ban it too. |

Ok.... clearly people have gone off the deep end here. SL is a virtual world.....nothing actually really happens here.....it's simulated.... the idea that an avitar with a ciggy could be offensive to anyone in world has me seriously concerned for these people's grasp on reality as a whole. Take a step back.....step AWAY from the computer...go outside... breath the air... get a grip! Honestly...I can't even comment....this is so ludicrous. At the risk of offending...and I am truly not out to offend anyone's sensitivities..... WTF preople...it's a friggin cyber reality we're talking about here....half the time I'm in-world I walk around with a fatty hanging out of my mouth......next thing ya know I'm gonna be arrested by the SL police for drug posession!!! Get over yourselves.... the very idea of having a virtual world to hang out in is appealing because it's an escape from the BS of real life. If people are taking it so literally as to bring in RL issues and rules.....they need their heads examined. JMHO
