Linden road signs are on the right, so I guess that's the side we're supposed to be on. I figure I'm doing pretty well if I stay between the shoulders at all.

i yet have to actually encouter oncoming traffic, so i usually drive on the side that is further away from ban lines.

I figure as long as I'm not shooting off the sim, or going under it .. I'm doing good..I've also found brakes do not work in SL.. don't ask hehe

Does anyone know which side of the road we are supposed to drive on in SL? Signage is place for driving on the right, as one would in the US. Stands to reason, given Linden Lab being a US based company. That said, if your car can actually stay in a lane, and if your car actually comes across cross traffic on the roads that can also stay in a lane, then I'd worry about which side. Until that time, take 'em as guidelines.  _____________________

I've yet to encounter any traffic when I've been driving on any of the SL roads, so I never really thought about it. I'm usually just trying to keep my own vehicle...upright.
That's not to say I haven't had an encounter with other assorted items along the way...curbs...walls...ditches...water...trees... |

The road past my front door is still just lumpy grass with ferns on so if I drive at all I zig-zag my way around the bumps.
How about if the different mainland islands had different rules of the road? That would be cool! _____________________

The only other traffic I have encountered was a LL DPW truck which kinda made me giggle. I usually keep to the right out of habit, or in midair at sim crossings.

I have yet to drive a car in SL when I didn't end up all over the road, and all of my trips always end in a crash or two.

I haven't found a car yet in SL that steers well enough to stay ON the road let alone worry about what side I'm supposed to keep to.

On the other hand, the trees make larger targets, and they're a pretty good guide of the midpoint between non-road parcels, so I just aim for them. This seems disturbing to passengers, however. I've also noticed that unpaved right-of-way seems to generate fewer border crashes than do actual roads. There are limits, however, to the geography one can cross even in a suped-up Hobo Junk Wagon, so a few bridges over the steepest ravines would be welcome. |

Ok that's funny The only other traffic I've seen while driving was actually a high speed, head on "collision" between my sports car and another one right in front of my house. I got unseated rather harshly and the other driver got diverted into the river. Had a good laugh about it and went our ways. |
