I've been in Second Life since it pretty much started (end of 2003, started with a different account) and have NEVER seen this before. Now I can't run SL without it happening over and over.
I'm getting graphic blackouts (textures show as nothing but black), coning/stretching of textures, and when I'm lucky, texture strobing seizures that flash across the screen so much that it makes me glad I'm not epileptic.
Second Life is the only game that does this for me, and I use my rig to play much more graphics-heavy games without any worry. I have alot I need to do within SL that this problem completely deadlocks me from doing. Please, anyone who knows what LL has broken this time and how I can fix it in any way, let me know. Thanks.

The graphic blackouts just started for me yesterday on an older mac that a family member uses for SL. No idea what triggered it since no settings were changed. That happens on older macs, particularly with the pre-wl client. I had it on my old mac, as did many of my mac friends. Mari _____________________

Sorry, I would prefer to actually do what I need to with my computer than pay 3 times as much for something thats more "user friendly". I'm a computer tech by trade, I don't need my hand held to use a computer.

The screen I notice goes black for me momentarily when I have minimized SL screen and come back.
I have had recently issues with textures not being saved on prims and returning to some other state. Textures that won't load that look grey or won't stretch right.... I figure it just was bad sl day for textures. It happens often with newer updates. I have no clue what is happening. I figure it just something wrong with the code in LL servers that day. Is the flicker due to overlap? I also have noticed new flicker of light on avatars not sure what it is or perhaps it has to do with one of my face light attachments. _____________________

Eric, are you by any chance using two monitors? Lots of reports of black textures and graphic freakouts in that situation. If so, try setting SL up to run on your main monitor, clear cache, relog, and rebake.

Could also check your graphics card to make sure it's keeping cool enough. I noticed in the summer that I had to point a small desk fan straight at my computer to keep it cool enough.
