I know I saw a post about this an age ago, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, so if someone has the link for that, I'd be much obliged :)
BUUUT, for the meantime....

I've got an SLEX account, and am enjoying it greatly, however, I keep hearing about On-Rez, and I am not sure how the two compare. Does anyone use both? Is one more functional than the other? Any feedback would be great. Oh, and are there any other, similar services out there I should look into?

Thanks!!

Well, that solves that problem...I just tried to register for OnRez, and it says my avatar name is already associated with an account. ummmm, having never signed up, and since their customer support seem to only help registered users, I'll have to say, I'll stick with SLex. :)

However it doesnt have anywhere near the traffic SLX does

I sell more via onrez, I tihnk maybe because of the sheer volume of gear on SLX things seem to get overshadowed by the hundreds of other products in the catergory. Also SLX has the facility to pay for your item to be HIGHLIGHTED..its quite expensive really...and they charge commission on sales over 10L. Onrez just seems more soft & fluffy , no charges, great inworld vendors...I prefer it and sell more there :)

I had the same problem, aCk! I am foehn Breed,
if you had a slb account a friend mentioned to me, onrez is the new slb.
You just go to the onrez sim and click on one of their stands and it gets you to redo a password,
it reconizes you np! and then you are happy shopping.
I like both slexh and onrez, *knock on wood* and rarely have had any problems and if I did the ppls that run either site have helped fix, yah them.

I hate the way SLEX looks, while Onrez has a much sleeker more professional look.

I hate the way SLEX operates as far as inputting information for items for sale, while Onrez is quick and easy...basically much more user friendly.

In every way I think Onrez is far superior to SLEX except one...sales. They are much better on Slex.

okay onrez is prettier,
but! a lot of sellers are still using slexh, sure they both get a majority of new items,
still mostly slexh.
And slexh is good for random and old school SL items finds.
One thing I like about onrez is, it doesn't censor you, but too if you send some one something, it doesn't tell you like slexh does.

*edit* When I mean censor you, the deal w/ using paypal and slexh. I don't keep monies on slexh, I don't use terminals to add L$.
So if I buy something that might be deemed Mature, I can't, going through straight paypal.
On onrez, I do keep monies on onrez *clickity click* paypal,
Mature content pref saved, just buy what I want ... if that makes sense.

:) It's one of those personal preferences thing I think -- I much prefer SLX's set up and especially the method of setting up items, to that of OnRez. I like being able to just look at one item and not have every other item also there on the screen, at the same time.

Nonetheless I suggest using both of them -- free to set up, no charge to list items, and provides more exposure for your products. Even if you don't get sales on the websites, some people will do their window shopping on the websites then come inworld to buy at your store.

Why even bother to compare the two? Really? Use them both! Scoot!

I used to use them both back when OnRez used to be called SLBotique. I never made many sales on SLB so i pulled my store out and just stuck with SLX alone. Has business picked up for SLB since the name change? If so i may open it back up. I'm also thinking about Apez too.

slx or onrezzz

I sell my foreign factory mass produced cheepy made south of the border junk on both. I make many more sales on SLX. I asked Kathy Lee if she would reccomend a nice little sweatshop but she declined. The interface for adding items on either is pretty easy after you get used to it and know what to expect. Slx does have the comish but it aint much and for the traffic and sales I get I'd glady pay anyone the small amount for the service. Onrez is ok but a bit more difficult to navigate when I'm shopping for something. Both places are also a great time waster when RL work is slow too.

Exactly. There is no single reason not to list at both places. A lot of people browse SLX and OnRez to winnow down results before TP'ing around SL to complete their shopping. You can't control where your potential customers are searching for your merchandise so the wise course is to have it listed anyplace they might be browsing. Don't worry so much about actual sales, what you really are looking for is exposure.

Yea. Unless you amazingly found a land parcel small enough it can only hold one server i see no reason you can't have both. XD

I like the On-Rez website a lot better for shopping than the SL Exchange site. I find that the search is easier to use, the results are easier to sort through.

But I use both, and either one is better than a lagged out mall. I can shop from my desk at lunch time too.

Spent around $3000 L OnRez in the past two weeks. Spent maybe $250 L on SLX.

I use both, and advise using both!

Each has different plusses and minuses.

P.S. Yiffy - yes, business has picked up for me on OnRez since the change. Dunno why!
