I come to bury Chris Norse, not to praise him. To the cheers of many and the lamentations of a few, tonight when my computer is powered down, Chris Norse will pass away quietly in his sleep. My health has taken a steep decline lately, physically and mentally I only have the strength for RL now. To all of you, thank you for the pleasure of knowing you. I hope that in someway I touched each of you. Love or hate. Laughter or anger. Just as long as I made you feel something, my Second Life was lived the way it should be. As I sit here, tears in my eyes, one song plays in my head. It can't be said by anyone that I didn't do things My Way. Brenda, Littleme, and Lindal will be doing interviews to fill my position as Cynical Bastard. I will my bullshit detector to whoever is brave enough to use it. And Feline? You know. May peace and happiness find each of you. Good bye to you all, we made many memories together. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6426242044766176794And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, Ill say it clear, Ill state my case, of which Im certain. Ive lived a life thats full. Ive traveled each and evry highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, Ive had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried. Ive had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, No, oh no not me, I did it my way. For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way!

I'm so very sorry to hear this, Chris. You were one of my first customers back when I sold a few Valentines cards in 2008 before I opened my shop. And a repeat customer. Thank you, and from the bottom of my heart...all the best, man.

Chris,
I think I may have met you briefly at the hangout tonight...I don't know your story, but maybe someone will fill me in. Although I didn't get a good chance to know you, after reading your post...I reget that I didn't get to know you better, I wish you well, you sound like a very interesting person....Since I can't think of anything better to say right now...I wish you the best.

I'll just say that I'll cherish having had you as my friend, the memories of all the laughter we shared will stay with me forever. I give you my love and my hopes for a peaceful journey. I come to praise Chris Norse, not to bury him. You can walk away both proud and loved, and that is more than most can say, RL or SL! There are few in SL whom I completely trust, but you have always been one of them. Inworld, I'll miss your generosity, your wit, and - what those who only know you from the forums may not realize - your protective warmth. In the forums, I'll miss your fearless intelligence and character. *smiles* Remember, if you come back sometime to visit, the sexiest man in SL may see a lot of this: Now, if that's not an incentive to feel better and come back sometimes, what is! I never gave you a rating, did I, Chris? <10> Be well, you. .

If my own experience has any value in judging what SL has meant to you, your three years here have equaled many, many more in wonder, magic and deep emotion. Those of us who have been able to live and do here what we can no longer do in Real have been blessed by the gods of electronic science, as we cannot be by that of medicine, with rejuvenation and strength and prolonged life. That it doesn't last forever is not reason to think less of it.
You have been whole and vital and alive with joy - a life of friends, and fun, and doing great things which your friends will remember always. And you, as I, have found such a love, such a partner. As you noted, for that there is no way to say anything more at all.
We can rally around Feline as we cannot now surround you to give you strength. Know that we would, if it were allowed us. Know that you leave a hole in our lives. I know that the absence of SL will leave a gigantic void in yours.
Bless you. Peace.

I'll always remember you on the dance pole, above the bar...each time I see those pictures I laugh...it was a fun night for all at the hangout....and boy did you "hang" out. Chris, I wish you peace...hold onto the friends, the laughter, the love that comes your way, keep all close to your heart and let these things comfort you. Thank you for touching my SL life, and making me smile and laugh in RL, you truly will be missed.

I am suddenly at more of a loss for words than I thought I could be. I didn't see the chat message, until after you'd logged off (damn chat lag!!!) nor this Thread until just now. When we last spoke, about a week or so ago I knew things weren't good but I had no idea how bad. Well, maybe I did deep in my heart, knowing you as well as I did. I could sense something amiss and was aware things had changed greatly. The time we shared together, was wonderful and precious for many reasons. Your friendship means so much to me, and I'll always have a special place for you in my heart, regardless of who else is there. If there is anything you need, an additional person to vent to, whatever; you know how to reach me. You, will be in my thoughts each day. Much love, Lora

I've never met you except here in the forums, Chris, but though I can't claim to know you or be your friend, you have my best wishes.
I'm saddened to hear about your health, and I hope that things will improve for you as much as possible.
Take care!

God bless you and keep you, Chris. I know you mainly from the forums (I may have met you once or twice at the "Hangout" but we share similar beliefs in politics and such and in your posts I felt a kindred spirit. I will miss your and your posts greatly and pray you may gain the strength to join us again.
