It is talking about after you convert L$ to US$ and then want to cash out your credit. They will not send checks anymore for low amounts - paypal only.

Have you looked at the Xstreet process for this? I know that over there you can also covert L$to US$ and cash that out.

Very hard to follow your thoughts.

Try using , . ; and a CAPITAL.

I still have NO idea what you are on about.

Oh, is that what I'm supposed to do with that pile of lindens I'm accumulating? Cash out?

Nah, that doesn't sound like any fun. There has to be a better idea.

BTW, Naiman, capitalization and punctuation may seem like a bother when you're writing, but they sure are helpful when we're reading. That's why it's considered polite to use them. Also, many of us learned written communications before most of it was done using thumbs. (As my son loves to point out, "Little of significance has ever written using one's thumbs.)

Don't worry, though, some day you those like you are likely to take over. I'll be long gone by then, thank goodness.

OK, back to the OP's issue.

As I understand it from earlier threads on this subject, but never having done any monetary transactions with SL myself:

You can cash out using Paypal or by check. SL used to allow you to cash out by check for a nominal fee, regardless of amount. They now allow it only for amounts of US$10K or more, and with a US$100 fee (which is only 1% of 10K, after all).

If you want to cash out less than US$10K, you have to use Paypal or else use a 3rd party exchange, such as XStreetSL.com .

It actually sounds like, from an LL letter that someone posted here:

/327/23/297384/1.html

that there will be no more checks at all, but that a wire transfer, with a fee, will be an option for US $10,000 or more -- and Paypal is now the only option for less than that amount.

This looks for me as a logical step of self protecting for LLs financial payments in the comming burst of the credit card bubble.
The positive side effect is, that LL will hold more cash on their side. At least from all the cash of ppl who didnt get that change and do not have a paypal account set up.

I think its highly unfair to customers and especially for premium users that should get at least a minimum of advantage in paying an annual fee....

now especially for the european users becouse using mpaypal means that they have to pay a 2-5 % tax on conversions from USD to EU while this favors only US residents , also checking other ways of changing like Eldex or others u loose also on the exchange altough they give your money cached imediatly on ur account with wire transfer , the LL wire transfer option adds a fee that's totally unjustified tough still making the math if you have tons of money it would be better if you can manage to sell ur money at a proper price.....

b ut this means that there is no option for those that do not have big money and do not want to use paypal so it sounds like a forcing youto either pay a 2.5% tax to paypal or to pay a 3 % tax to other money exchangers.....

I hope they will add back the check options with more terran fees instead of those 100 usd thing .....
