What I mean is - well here we are on this world and we live for as long as our human allows us to. We cant DIE per se, we can relog. And is our eternity boring after a while? BUT wouldnt it be more exciting if we did die? I mean we lose everything and sl doesnt allow us back? I promised myself that if I "died" in sl I would go off forever. My partner thinks I am nuts. But what does he know? As I often say. Do you ever intend to "die" in sl and never come bacK? Give it all up? Now you cant say this is a thread about sex ... well la petite morte perhaps but .. anyway its just an idea I had.

Isn't this the theme of that South Park episode in which the boys save World of Warcraft from the evil geek with no life?

Pep (Going on vacation away from dumbland) You have sons you say? What would you do if oen of them brought me home to meet "dad"? Try and answer the question - Andrew Marvell write that it is a "desert of vast eternity". Seriously, if there ar eno risks how can we reallly get creative or even have a real sense of our sl history? And relationships have no foundation in time or responsibility. Oh I forgot - I'm talking to Pep .. sorry...

As long as there are more dresses to buy & wear, and more hunts to do, I will not be bored. From: Jig Chippewa Now you cant say this is a thread about sex ... I can *say* anything I want.... and with probably very little work, I'll bet we could make it a thread about sex.

From: LittleMe Jewell I'll bet we could make it a thread about sex. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. And yet this thread has potential. There may be pie.

Pep (As far as the supplementary is concerned, my son has *much* better taste than to bring someone like you home) Wow Pep, if I didnt think you were joking I would say you really didnt care for women like me. Merry Christmas, old man, enjoy all the happiness of the season. When you listen to the carols from Christ's College Cambridge you can think of me listening too.

Wow. That would be one of the worse things that LL could do. I'd say they'd go out of business very soon if they were to implement avatar dying. As far as making things more exciting? No. I don't think so. We basically wouldn't actually be dying.. just getting logged off.. and all of our money and time invested would simply be wasted. Hey everybody after a year in SL we'll erase your avatar all your land and all your inventory! It'll be fun! See? That won't go over well at all.

From: Gabriele Graves I have attended several AV funerals in world. I attended one, but I think he managed to not stay dead and now he hides out and occasionally gets into group chat and tries to start some sort of uprising.

Yea, I seem to remember no matter how many times he was stabbed, he kept on coming back for more And speaking of that, as long as those kind of things happen here now and then? I guess I won't have a need for death.

IRL i wish i could walk the earth until the end of times.
It could be boring but humanity is a constant source of amusement, especially if you are freed from the threat of dieing and can observe it as you see fit.

Death would suck because finally when you've figured out things, got enough know how and ability to not be a newbie you'd croak. There are worlds where death meant you had to start your account over and it really would suck because there was lot of ways to die. When you die you could lose everything you had, including money and time you spent developing what that character had. You would have thought this would make a more exciting and challenging gaming experience but it didn't, it was all about leveling and trying to keep your health high, acquiring stuff after a while it just was boring.

When you listen to the carols from Christ's College Cambridge you can think of me listening too. You ask questions - I answer them truthfully. It's not you I dislike, it's the things you do, a distinction that I have pointed out to my children, who are bright enough to understand my point and do something about it. Pep (King's College hosts the famous carol service, but St John's is musically better; if Christ's has one it is below my horizon)
