What would you do to improve Premium accounts?

My guess is that they have already made some decision, and are going through the motions of trying to make us feel that our input was involved.

or maybe they are seeing that they let premium accounts down and want to know how to get us back..

The lack of response could be because it's Friday night and most people that want to give an answer will be back later. There are some here that feel LL has given lip service time and time again and you are being lumped in and doing the same. There are a few sitting back watching and waiting - no sense giving an opinion until you prove yourself. Good luck with this. I'll be watching.

At this point the only true selling point personally for me with Premium is the
stipend and option to have mainland because it allows me to have land but downside
is how mainland is managed and often looks.
I don't mind occasionally renting a place but even that has it is issues too, there is very
little consumer protection when one is renting from another Resident.
Please LL don't remove things from Premium, if you do their will be less people Premium
and more people angry, who will leave and most likely not come back.
We pay for the stipend, if you remove it just make you look like you're being
greedy since LL makes the L$ in first place.
If you're concerned about L$ from stipends being cashed out them pay us
in another type of money system that we can use for uploads and money that isn't
meant to be cashed out.

This question is a good one and I am looking forward to the answers of more creative people than myself. The main reason I'm premium is to own mainland. I'm very happy with my mainland plot. My corner of the mainland isn't perfect, but it is very much nicer since the new ad rules went into place. I'd like to see more roads constructed (well, actually built--the land for the roads is already there), and more rez points along the roads, but that isn't strictly a premium issue.

I would like to see more tier options--particularly between the $40.00 a month mark and the $75.00 a month mark.

I just returned home, saw this thread, and posted my response on the requested thread.

The main thing I would like to see is smaller tier jumps as well. Then maybe I wouldn't have to sell off a couple parcels of my land that I just re-subdivided in preparation to do so.

Don't forget that they asked us about the traffic metric a long time ago, and even had special meetings and a group for it, and what has happened to traffic since then? I'm with Jannae on this.

the only thing I can think of would be, what would improve the differences between free and premium accounts. which would involve restricting free accounts, which would be incentive yes, but maybe a bit mean. I am pretty fine with my paid acount, 10 bones, not too expensive, maybe 'x' amount of free uploads a month? that maybe a nice and cheap way for LL to comp their paid accounts. about it really, the rights to own land was enought for me to be honest.

Maybe some sort of freebee place run by LL for paid accounts. That may be incentive for nubies to upgrade. Not sure if it would affect the rest of us.

I take back my pessimistic comments. I have been convinced that T is just what he claims to be. A sweet, newbie frog, sent to us to get our perspective on potential LL policy issues.

Most likely, this strategy is the result of the OS disaster, but that is only my opinion.

Which team is in charge of the mainland? DPW says it isn't them, concierge says they aren't it. The abuse report team says its not them. The Community Team doesn't want the responsibility either. Most will point to Jack Linden when pressed - but then he starts the merry-go-round of finger pointing all over again. Even you, Katt, passed the buck and put me back on the merry-go-round.

You are going to have to have a real customer service team in place and visible for the premium accounts to rely upon to effective keep your premiums accounts. Bad word of mouth is a very real reason that there is a steady decline in Mainland premium accounts. Curtail the abuses of your own staff. Make the Abuse Report team accountable to someone else other than themselves. Don't be so quick to circle your wagons and protect your own no matter what. Let your staff know that their employee ID badge does not make them above the rules all residents must follow. Treat it like a business with paying customers and not a geek clique. Then you will be well on your way to creating a better mainland for the Premium customers.

I was kinda surprised by that myself. It is also the first time they haven't focused completely on the "new user experience." T seems to have realized the need for premium accounts and existing users. Something the rest of them need to get a clue about.

It was the first blog post in a very long time that wasn't condescending to us. Well, at least since they banned Torley from posting there.

One of the changes I'd like to see to premium accounts is immediate response to abuse issues that we can't fix with our land tools. Encroachment is probably the most annoying thing, because it hinders our ability to use our own land, land which we pay tier on. When we have to report this, we're doing so because we've already followed the "procedure" of notifying the object owner and haven't heard anything back or were roundly abused by them.

Wait....Torley can't post on the blog???? The same Torley that is the only Linden who seems to actually be concerned about us, the residents???
