My name is Jim Reed and I'm the tehnology reporter at BBC Radio 1 in London. I need help from a Second Life user. I'm doing a report for the radio this afternoon about Google's new 3D world software - Lively.

I'm looking for someone who knows something about Second Life to test it out for me. The problem is they need to be near or in London and need to be free for 15 minutes some time between now (11 am London time on Thursday 10 July) and 4 pm this afternoon.

If anyone can help out, would really appreciate it. I have a decent laptop so we could do this in your lunch hour and I could come to you?

Please give me a should on jim.reed@bbc.co.uk with your number and I'll call you back.

Jim

OK good to know and good to make that public, if you go missing, we'll send in the SL avatar retreval squad in to the BBC House

Since when did Radio 1 do technology? It's a pop channel. That shows I never listen to it, but I'll try to remember to listen today. What frequency is it on?

Dunno - strangely it doesn't list it on their website...
I usually listen to radio 2, which is 88-91 not that that is of any use here

Maybe it's a slot in a programme. It would probably have to to be that on Radio 1 I would think.

99.3FM but I suggest listening live online:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/

At that hour it'll be the Newsbeat programme, which is the extended 15-minute version of the news. You can usually use the Listen Again feature on BBC Radio for up to seven days, but I'm not sure that covers the Newsbeat programmes. If you miss it and want to try Listen Again, I suggest using the Listen Again link for Greg James (the DJ whose show is before this Newsbeat programme) and fast-forward to 15 minutes before the end of the feed. Hopefully the Newsbeat Programme will be tacked onto the end of that show:

SLT is 8 hours behind GMT (although technically we're in BST right now over here, even if the weather doesn't feel like it!) so yes, that'll be 09:45am.

R1's a pretty good station, even if there are a couple of dodgy DJs on it. Edith Bowman's on right now; she's not bad. My favourite's Jo Whiley (starts 10am GMT) - she plays a lot of indie stuff.

It's a small slot on the newsbeat programme - the gather chipmuks to discuss technology matters

They will probably only use a few seconds of me anyway. Oh and don't be surprised if I sound like a guy in RL *grins*
