Pushpins on landmarks

I've noticed in the past that the red pushpins on landmarks are sometimes bright red, and sometimes dull, almost transparent red. In the new RC, some of them are blue.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are?

***** Knowledge Base article *****

Why do Landmarks come in two different colors?

If you've looked in your Inventory > Landmarks folder, you may have noticed some of the pushpin icons are bright red, while others are a faded, almost purple tone.

Here's the difference:
Bright red landmarks are ones you've teleported to. They probably won't change to that color until after you relog.

Faded mauve landmarks are ones you haven't been to yet.

An easy way to test is:

- Go to a parcel of land you can create landmarks on.

- Select World menu > Create Landmark Here twice.

- Then, in your Inventory > Landmarks folder, teleport to one of those landmarks (right-click it, Teleport To Landmark) and relog.

- Look at your landmarks again.

See the difference?

I don't know about the blue ones.

I don't think I have found this to be 100% true. Maybe it's just SL, but I should have a lot more red pushpins.

The poster in the thread that I copied the article from implied that the results may vary.

At any rate this is thread I got the info from.

Partly just SL being SL, I'm sure, but I have a feeling landmarks that lead to a parcel where a landing point has been set tend to stay that darker color forever, since in those cases you wouldn't end up exactly where the landmark tried to send you - the parcel properties take over and you arrive at the landing point, and even if it's really really close to the same spot it doesn't register that you visited the landmark.

Just a guess after a bit of observation one bored evening, I could be totally wrong.
