Perhaps. But in all actuality I find posts counts a silly notion and wish they could at least optionally be disabled. Some people get too wrapped up in their own, and or others. I notice my own post count, and get excited at the numbers when they are nearing a nice, round number (100, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, etc), but generally I agree.. its silly, and doesn't mean anything really. People with 4 posts could offer just as good advice as someone with 400,000 _____________________

And you have a good point, Having a high post count doesn't mean anything other than you have a high post count .. Anything I say doesn't have any more weight than someone with a post count of 2 says. Nor does the fact I have so many somehow makes my opinions less valid than someone who has a post count of 500. |

For me, quality >>>>>>>>>>> quantity. In many cases, people talk a lot, but nothing is actually said. The converse is that some people talk very little, but I hungrily absorb everything they say as if it were a literary feast. Even fewer are those who have both a high post count, and a majority of them are true gems. No, I am not going to rate Colette on either here, just pointing out the silly notions people have at times.  |

I like reading your posts, Colette. Very articulate, thought out and laid out nicely. So, congrats on 10,000! And as someone who often has a lot to say, especially in RL (I actually restrain myself on the forums, if you can believe that), I'm sure that what you have to say is important, so don't pay attention to the ones who act as though it's not.

While it is momentous, I normally don't look at a person's post count. In fact, I had no idea you were approaching 10k. It's cool, but I just normally don't look... and it colors my opinion when people say that others are just trying to boost their post count, or if the accusation is thrown at me. I couldn't tell you how many posts I have, I'd have to look it up!! And it doesn't faze me in the slightest.
