To the OP, just to clarify:

You need to specify dates in the transaction screen, i.e. if you camped 5 days ago, you'll need to set the "from" date to about 6 days ago, just to be sure, and the "To" date to today. That way you'll see everything that happened in your account during those 6 days.

Just for reference: It's usually termed "Linden Dollar" or L$. A single "Linden" is a person who works for Linden Lab, the company that owns Second Life. Welcome to SL!

I'm not part of any group that has fees. If I was, how is it that I'm still part of them?

You do realize that 3L is the equivalent of 1 US cent, right?

It might be faster to try to find pennies on the sidewalk.

However, you'd still need to use a credit card to get any pennies you found into your SL account.

If you can't/won't use a credit card, since you're older than 45 days, money trees won't work for you.... so other than begging from your Master(card), look into Picks Camping. Can make Lindens a bit faster, although you are limited as to how much you can make, because you can only have 10 picks.

Take a hint from Jane in 2k Suisei's post and eat Morpork and you will end up with plenty of lindens in hardly no time at all.

If you lost those linden then most likely its a group. I have a few groups that charge 3 or so linden so its possible.

Camping works for most people. IM me in game and I'll put you on my list of models. I need them for products I sell and you can make a few hundred linden that way. I'll even help you with skins and clothing if you need.

you don't get kicked out for lack of money. i've been at zero and still stayed in some groups that charge.

What you can do is find some odd piece of junk in your house and sell it on ebay. Then use that to buy some lindens.

I'm a bit confused ... did the $L3 appear in your balance then disappear, or did it never show up at all? I seem to remember from my camping days that occasionally the money would never reach my account, even though the chair said it had paid me. If this is the case, odds are that it's just sl being a bit borky in a laggy overcrowded camping spot and there's not really anything you can do.

I know $L3 seems a big deal when it's all the money you have, but as others have said, it really is peanuts and you might as well just write off the loss. You would be better off registering a credit card or paypal account and just buying some $L. If you really want to camp, try doing a search for camping trivia - you get paid a couple of $L for correctly answering questions every few minutes and you will be surrounded by actual human-controlled avatars rather than silent bots.

Ind I've tried to sign up for Paypal, it takes weeks of pissing around just to register. But how do I get linden with an empty Paypal?

I don't think I can hold an actual SL job. I'm usually off-line for weeks to avoid going into prostitution to pay the internet bills.

They may not charge to join, but they could still be distributing their group liabilities to the members.

yes, it can take a while to get paypal up and running. For sl, it needs to be a verified paypal account - that is, it is linked to your bank account. When you buy lindens or pay tier or whatever, the money gets debited directly from the bank account.

Meanwhile, try not to get too frustrated at your lack of $L - you can do almost anything in SL for free.

I have an Alt in a group that takes Linden for Group Liabilities. But that alt never has any Linden but they keep charging it. It is about
$L - 480 now and still going in the negative.
Pretty funny watching it go in the red.
Never thought it could do that..

I wonder if the collection agency will be calling soon?
