From: Cristalle Karami Have people rent lockers that take them to restricted access skyboxes.
Honestly, rentals are the only way you really hope to make any money and come close to breaking even. LOL that would be freaky I never had a locker in college though. I had a dorm room. And then an apartment.

Hmmm, maybe I should be Belding or Max instead, I bet someone would pay good money to play Zack Morris... Wheels are turning, I might organize an event inworld later tonight to see if there is any interest in this lol.
Oh crap, would this be a copyright infringement?

From: Colette Meiji High school RP sounds like it would not make money
-No combat
There's no combat is High Schools? When did that happen? And I'd pay to join the Saved by the Bell sim just to meet Tiffany!

You people are doing it wrong.
I have just bought a sim I've dedicated to people who like to RP being victims of scams. I send out group IM's telling them that I'm a Nigerian Prince or that they have won the Spanish Lottery even though they never bought a ticket. They send me thousands of Lindens. Sometimes I sell them fake Rolex watches or "male enhancement" herbs. Then, after I refuse to give their money back, they can walk around the sim telling people their sad story, alerting the sim police and news tabloids and attending victim's groups to try to heal the wounds I've caused. As soon as they start to feel better, I send them a Ponzi scheme IM or ask them to invest in my bank.
Bam! Profitable RP sim.

From: Chip Midnight Yep, I don't have any idea if such a plan would work or not since people are so reluctant to demand support from the RP'ers, but I hope some brave sim owners will start attempting to change the culture. I've long wanted to do a scifi RP sim, but I'm not rich enough to do it as a charity, and with the existing culture it may never happen, or be extremely short lived if it does. I think it's possible, actually, even with a 'land' model. Reasoning: Another more intuitive way to think about land is 'prims' - and another way to think about prims is 'creative control for realisation of dreams.' So all you need to do is rent to people who are already into 'not being their real selves' when online and there you are - just turn 'em loose to realise their dream within a very light framework of a covenant. Just enough so they don't build cheesy apartments in a jungle and suchlike. People will need land/prims/resources to participate deeply in any case, and will often find ways to pay for that inworld (starting a clothing shop, what-have-you) or just plain pay as they go. As for telling people how to dress or behave moment to moment... I could never enforce such a thing, and a lot of the RP regulars flee to The Wastelands or Caledon or Winterfell and other more casual areas anyhow. For a while there a few months back, I was practically tripping over Elves and their alts from a *very* well known area - Caledon was full and couldn't take many in, but I couldn't help notice the exodus. Drama bomb go off over there maybe? I wasn't sure, but these folks were very willing to pay if I'd only had resources for them.

Bam! Profitable RP sim. Are you sure it was a Sim you bought? I heard that a Nigerian exile was also selling his vast family holdings and if you bought the sim from him you might have to wait for a bit before taking possession. Looking at all your sca...ahhmm, money making opportunities.. it seems that you have no need for a sim at all.. just make the victims rp in help island and tell them that is THE place to make these kind of deals.. .d

I'm surprised no one has started an RP combat sim with a dedicated armed forces group....
....and auctioned off the ranks.

I'm thinking "Fight Club" sim... You could sell animations and have a gym for training people to use them. Then sell tickets to the main events.

Better yet, have the training actually improve AV stats... and only work in the sim's training hall. (and charge per hour) then we'll have fightbots.
