Banned from SL or banned from land next to yours?

There's a jira issue on a topic that might be related.
People getting past Estate and Land bans https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4632 There's another thread where this came up recently. _____________________

I would just keep ejecting them.

A banned avatar can enter your land above 768 meters. If you have a skybox, you will need a security orb to ban people.

Aside from all the above - perhaps the system was lagging and it hadn't yet 'taken.'

A sim banned av also? Yes. A regular ban line goes up 50 meters, a by-name-avatar ban line goes up several hundred meters. _____________________

Last spring, I had a similar situation and posted it here: /327/c3/337678/1.html
Seems there are various ways for individuals to bypass land bans of almost any type. The best way to deal with it is to file an AR and get a photo of them on your land at the time you file the report. Good luck! LOL, that was last Fall, not spring - time flies! _____________________

Perhaps get a security orb and put that person's name on the no entry list, and put that in your skybox or wherever. Hopefully they will tire of being ejected.

Yes. A regular ban line goes up 50 meters, a by-name-avatar ban line goes up several hundred meters. I have a related question. How high up does banning people with no payment info on file go from a parcel? |

I have a related question. How high up does banning people with no payment info on file go from a parcel? That, I'm not sure. I'd guess probably 50 meters since it's a general ban line as well. Post a SLurl and I'm sure someone will stop by and test it for you. _____________________

Thank you very much. I had an ALT (no profile/no payment info) fly into a parcel of all water and go to the trouble to fly up to 3000 meters just to attempt to land on a skybox (which most everyone knows are private.) I banned him but from the great responses on this thread, I now know my alarm (which ejected him and noted the time of his attempted visit) is really the only course of action against him or any of his other incarnation alts.
He is banned from all sim parcels now though and also the adjacent sims so he'll have a bit more trouble getting back...unless he LMed it before the alarm kicked him ..in which case it will auto eject him if he returns and an AR I guess if it will do any good. ![]() It's just a matter of disrespect even more than privacy. I don't call it ignorance...they know what they're doing. Sadly, I've seen it a lot of late. |

Yes it *is* disrespectful to knowingly intrude, and rude as well.
I agree there does seem a dearth of manners in overall society lately - SL or RL. (Manners, to me, are simply being considerate - not very difficult one might think, but does require empathy or will to learn what is felt as considerate: either or both.) Oh, and, you are welcome. ![]() _____________________
