Land/Tier Question

Okay. So I had some land. Over a bit of time, most of it was deeded to group.

I sold some of that recently. About 2500 meters' worth. I did it to free up tier, i.e. to buy more without tier going up. Since I was almost at that threshold.

But I'm still at that threshold. Why?

I also would like to know if it is possible and if it is easy, to transfer land from one group to another. Without incurring huge penalties etc. I would like to begin a new group for a venture, if possible. But, how would transferring the deed, or selling to my new group, or whatever has to be done - effect tier, available land, costs, etc.?

I just dun get it.

Thanks.

You might have to change the amount of land that is entered in "Your Contribution" on the Land and L$ tab of your group's info.

Go to community/account/land manager and then click group land, something like that and it will show you if you still have tier donated to the group.

Transferring land, read this forum post very carefully:

Yes you have to change the amount of land you have donated to the group. Even if the group doesn't own land... you still get charged for it if you have it donated.

Selling group land does not reduce your tier donation to the group.

To free the tier you would need to reduce your tier donation. Do that by looking at your group info, Land and $.

If you want to buy more land for the group you can do that directly at time of purchase. Have your group tag active and when you click 'Buy land' you'll have an option to 'Buy for group'

You will pay the purchase price but the land will be deeded to the group.

Thanks so much.

So should I reduce tier to the amount I wish to purchase or by the amount I sold off? I don't want to hurt anyone else's tier allowance or whatever.

Grrr it is all so complex. Sometimes I wish I had just kept it all in one name.

If you want to transfer land you currently own to another group, when you sell the land to yourself it will work out the tier reduction for you and give you the option to remove that amount of tier from the current group.

However that won't fix the issue of you already having enough tier donated, go to your group info, look at land and it tells you how much is donated and what the maximum donation is.
