When do you think it's reasonable and polite to take a thread off topic? Maybe after ...
- someone brings up bots or banlines?
- Pep and Scylla go at it like the gingham dog and the calico cat?
- Jig makes a tongue-in-cheek reply that someone takes seriously as a personal attack?
- LL bashing?
- Chosen and Argent disagree vociferously on some techical point, leaving the rest of us wondering whether they're actually speaking English, even though we recognize many of the smaller words?
- Lil flirts with someone?
Please help with your suggestions. Of course, stay on topic!

LMAO, seriously? We're expected to adhere to limitations? I look at every thread as having potential for derailment.

Hey, did you hear that there's gonna be another Pirates of the Carribean movie?
I mean, Depp is okay, I guess, but... hasn't it been done enough?

I mean, Depp is okay, I guess, but... hasn't it been done enough? I lost all respect for him after the 2nd one. The first was great, the later two were just total pants.

From: Ciaran Laval Threads don't go off topic, they evolve. It's more a case of the OP getting the topic wrong.

I am very hurt. I have derailed such a large number of threads I should have been mentioned in the OP.

LOL, everyone. Especially Love, who gets 3 LOLs. From: Chris Norse I am very hurt. I have derailed such a large number of threads I should have been mentioned in the OP. Awww. Actually, I tried to work you in, but I couldn't think of a short phrase that would have done your derailments justice. I also considered mentioning Brenda, but held my tongue ...

Just by reading it gives me the right to perceive it how ever my eyes are fried that day, and since fried foods tend to be higher in oil than forks, it will depend on how many pieces of chocolate you can pay me.
And while we are talking about clocks, isn't it left of the yard arm is rum, and right of the yard arm is whiskey?

From: Lear Cale I also considered mentioning Brenda, but held my tongue ... When I read the OP, my first instinct was to reply: "Once Brenda starts posting to the thread." But you're right. Hold your tongue or Brenda may hold it for you. And drag you around by it. /me runs and hides behind Chris.
