This looks to be right in your price range after the conversion, and looks like it should handle SL fine. I haven't checked the integrated graphics to see if SL has any problems with it, but NVidia is usually safe, I believe.

And I'm not sure about if they do deliver to UK, but they should, they use FedEX, which goes worldwide. I can't say positively though.

And for payment types:

My Motherboard is a Asus A7A266.
My graphics card is the GeForce 3, so it's very old;P

I like the look of this PC

If i removed Vista would it void the warrenty?
I've never bought a PC before with a operating system i don't like on it.

That motherboard is Socket A, so it does work with the aforementioned CPU, if you decide to go that route.

And I believe removing/changing the OS does void most warranties.

Try INXS.com (Think that's the name). If I remember right, they're in the UK or something..maybe just Canada..bah..but that's where I got my CPU since Newegg ran out immediately on launch.

Also, I believe that computer you linked to was an E-Machine...those are available tons of places, so shouldn't be hard to find one that delivers to the UK ;)

ETA:: OK..not INXS.com ...that's a band XD

If you want to stick with Windows XP: I've read that Microsoft is taking XP off the shelves in June of this year. (Embarassed by the fact that people prefer XP to Vista, they decided to take away the option of XP rather than improve Vista. Typical Microsoft.)

If you want to use an existing licensed copy of Windows XP that you own, keep in mind that Windows XP Home Edition does not support dual processors. You need Windows XP Professional for a dual processor machine.

If you have to stick with Vista, at least Vista has improved since it was first released, and a lot more things that didn't work with it at first finally work with it now. Just from causal form observation, it seems that Vista and SL work together well enough now.

I have an ATI graphics card (Radeon 1650). It runs SL fine. Though I wonder if another graphics card would be better. For a card that was supposedly a top-notch graphics card when I bought it new last year, I would expect to be able to run SL on better than the minimal graphics settings. But SL chokes if when I try getting better graphics out of it. Just based on things I've read in forums over the past year, I think my next graphics card will be an nVidia.

After 2 bad experiences with ATI graphics cards I now generally avoid them and rely on NVidia. I have had far too many compatability problems and driver issues with ATI cards and graphics intensive programs I use such as MMORPG's.

Of those two go with the 2380, the graphics is nVidia, while the other is ATI. Not sure how the two graphics cards compare, but I know most people prefet nVidia over ATI for SL.

It also has a better version of (bleh) Vista, larger hard drive (Twice as large), and though I'm not sure, I believe the processor equates to a faster one.

Good luck, and all that.
