Strife Onizuka, you aren't even premium? You work for LL and they are so cheap they won't let you be premium for free? I would figure that anybody that does anything for LL gets at least an automatic free premium account... geesh!

I'd do the same as when I get paid for completion of a major building project phase - I'd cash it out, and set the money aside in my PayPal account to go towards the new computer that I am saving up for. Which is the only way I'll ever afford to replace my computer with one that will do well at running SL.

Still, this is quite a bit of volunteer effort on Strifes part. Some freebies from LL would be expected. LL are cheap bastards.

To stay on topic for this thread, what would I do with $100,000?, well, first I'd pay off my huge debts and then perhaps the mortgage on my house and then... huh, what?, oh you don't mean USD $100,000. Nevermind.

I can't believe that no one has said the best thing to do with L$100,000, get a really good escort. Either that or maybe invest it all into Ginko bonds.

I'd keep in in my account for rent and common expenses.

If I had a Million Lindens
09-12-2007 07:36
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you a house
(I would buy you a house)
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you furniture for your house
(Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a K-Car
(A nice Reliant automobile)
If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love

If I had a million dollars
I'd build a tree fort in our yard
If I had million dollars
You could help, it wouldn't be that hard
If I had million dollars
Maybe we could put like a little tiny fridge in there somewhere
You know, we could just go up there and hang out
Like open the fridge and stuff
There would already be laid out foods for us
Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things

They have pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon
Well, can you blame 'em
Uh, yeah

If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a fur coat
(But not a real fur coat that's cruel)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you an exotic pet
(Yep, like a llama or an emu)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you John Merrick's remains
(Ooh, all them crazy elephant bones)
And If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love

If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I had a million dollars
Now, we'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner
But we would eat Kraft Dinner
Of course we would, we’d just eat more
And buy really expensive ketchups with it
That’s right, all the fanciest ke... dijon ketchups!
Mmmmmm, Mmmm-Hmmm

If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a green dress
(But not a real green dress, that's cruel)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you some art
(A Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a monkey
(Haven't you always wanted a monkey)

If I had a million dollars
I’d buy your love

If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars
I'd be rich

(BNL and stuff)

On the off topic part, if Linden Lab gave free premiums to volunteers, just imagine the shitstorm from the rest of the community crying favoritism and unfairness.

On topic, some portion of it would be donated somewhere useful, and the balance would be converted to cash, left in the account to cover tier/fee.

Gordon may have ulterior motives for posing this question. He did, in fact, just receive $L100,000. :D

So give him some good advice.

Yeah, this isn't a winner-takes-all sort of deal. We're spreading it around so more people have a chance to win (and there are still more chances for folks to win $L100k of their very own!)

Yeah and I can't win again so everyone else will have to try to go and take Aimee's money.

I just remembered someplace else where a few thousand L$s might make a difference: The Sunday Show-and-Tell in Yongnam. A little encouragement to new content creators could go a long way. (Plus, it's great fun to watch... and the organizers need to look for a sim corner to spread across soon, with the audience it's attracting.)

I'd buy one of those over-the-top $50,000L pre-fab houses I see on the slexchange then invite Justin Timberlake over. The other $50,000L I'd spend wooing him. lol

Anyone who pays 50k for a prefab house deserves the pink flamingoes that go in the yard. If you want to blow 50k, go custom. IM me.

Remember, it was Justin Timberlake being wooed--one suspects he'd feel right at home in a trailer by now. ;)

Sharolaid is gay. He is a drag queen named Billy, when he dresses as a girl, he calls himself "Sharolaid Jackson". He just trash talks alot of people, hes not homophobe, he s homosexual himself. Hes just against the gay stereotypes is all.

Like I said, I was probably being too sensitive. It was 2am and I should have been in bed not watching silly videos.

I'd set up a shop and buy land for my girlfriend who is starting to create things and pay the upload fees for all those textures and such that she needs to build ........... and the RL money saved this way will go into her PC so I don't need to hear all those complaints about rendering problems when working with cinema 4D anymore.

This is the only benefit of living 1000 km apart: my PC is safe ^^

How about what you do with 277,000,000,000L?
09-12-2007 11:57
277,000,000,000L is equal give or take few dollars to 1,000,000,000 usd.
You wouldn't be able to take all that out right away, the system to increase buy outs was flawed or the lindens are just way too busy. The API risk wouldn't effect you because you've earned in legitimate ways but Linden Lab's really doesn't want you to cash this out because it would hurt their bottom line. So majority of this money must be spent in world.
This is what I would do,
1.) Turn some of into prepaid credit within my account page.
2.) Pay my friends so they can pay their own teir, etc.
3.) Spend it on land so I have bigger space for my friends to create things on just for fun.
4.) Invest it in highly skilled people to help me develope different projects and spaces.
5.) Create Several Sim that focus on what its like to live in poverty and provide well paying camping jobs to all who need it on the condition they would have to watch and experience what true poverty feels like and what would happen if society decide to abolish all welfare and public aid including what it is like currently for those who live in the welfare or public assistance.

Dearly Darlings,

I'd get the in-world grant program back up again.
