is it possible he WAS an alt of the shop owner???? who WAS logged into the alt to TRY and see if SOMEONE COULD steal his items? I mean, re-reading the original post... that's what it sounds like, and it sounds like the Ejection was not only unwarranted, but downright vindictive.

Right clicking an object in sl is no different to picking up any object in a store in real life, people are just looking at how its made

And no, what the OP did was completely reasonable. You might even want to reread it a few times and don't skip over the 'confession' part.

From: Bradley Bracken This entire thread shocks me. I right click like crazy. I'm nosy as hell. Even if I'm not buying something I'm curious how many prims it took. I just happen to admire other peoples work. I'm amazed from reading this that I haven't been booted yet. Hey Bradley, Just come over to my shop and right click when I am in-game, I would be most happy to boot you. Just to let you know how it feels of course When I am in a shop that has items displayed, and they look good, al always right-click to inspect. Just to see how many prims the builder used 2 days ago I noticed that someone who has a shop on my parcel speaks the same language as I do, just by using "Inspect" on her build. Named prims show up there too Never got a question about why I did it, but then again I never copied a thing either. Got good idea's for new stuff by inspecting things though.

I right click frequently when shopping for clothing - I want to see if the shoes or the jewelry or the hair, belt , etc come with it. Most of the time there is not enough space for all that info on the ad boards - and I have gotten "burnt" a few times by assuming.

I also will look at the contents to see what's in the box. I think that should be my right.

I was a little shocked by this thread as well. I am constantly trying to tweak my prim count and if I am going to buy something, I need to know that it will be able to fit along with the rest of the stuff I have jammed onto my land.

I mean, re-reading the original post... that's what it sounds like, and it sounds like the Ejection was not only unwarranted, but downright vindictive. That makes no sense, since the OP's friend in the story WAS the store owner, in which case he booted himself? And from how I read story, the store owner didn't go up to the clicking guy and just accuse him of foul play, he just asked if he could help him. The newbie COULD have said he was only trying to make things rez faster, but instead he ADMITTED he was trying to STEAL. From: Cinders Vale As a courteous store owner he asked if he could help. The newbie answered in Chat "Who are You?", the answer given was "I'm the owner". Newbie guy then says he's there to see what he can steal, he's found out that enough store owners don't make sure this can't happen. I don't understand how people are misinterpreting this to make it sound like the storeowner is just booting customers for no reason. I think the store owner acted exactly like a reasonable store owner SHOULD act. He saw behavior that felt suspicious to him, so he politely investigated, upon which his suspicions were confirmed.

I'm always looking at prim setups of people, there were even a few cases where I remade it for kicks. I wouldn't bother to keep it around or sell though.

From: Panacea Pangaea Sounds like he was looking for any 'Take Copy' items - and sometimes folk leave things copyable like that deliberately. I know I have in the past when I've created some small item for my own use that I'm not interested in selling but don't mind being copied.
After all, it could be another way of advertising - many names have become familiar because their free items have become commonplace.
It doesn't usually happen accidentally, and I wouldn't expect vendors etc to be free to copy, but if folk leave small things like vases or plants as free to copy, one might be forgiven for thinking they meant it. Hahaa, it's so likely, it's hilarious
