From: Seven Okelli I don't get the point of this thread. I've labored my way through that poorly written message and don't understand the point. Tristin, if it says something... anything... why didn't you just say it in plain English? Does having a note that is 98% gibberish make it more authoritative? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke5Mr5eCF2USeven, I put this through my Translatatron, and this came out: "SL sucks and it always will. I've got a big stake in Blue Mars. It sucks too, but come anyway so I can start making some money."

From: Lindal Kidd ......Mile High Club. Difficult, uncomfortable, impractical and not much fun, but people do it just to be able to say they did it. OOH! something new to strive for. thanks!

From: Lindal Kidd Hey...I bet sex on BM (what an unfortunate set of initials!) is like the Mile High Club. Difficult, uncomfortable, impractical and not much fun, but people do it just to be able to say they did it. LOL As I have a difficult enough time just moving, or seeing what's going on around me on BM, I can't even imagine trying to have sex there. And as for getting a clear view of what is going on while doing it . . . forget it! More to the point, though, I find the appearance of yet ANOTHER poster who seems to think that "sex" is what virtual worlds are REALLY "all about" both annoying and pathetic. Yeah, sex is big. Sex is great. Yay for sex! But what an utter failure of the imagination the OP evinces.

Thanks for the translation, Lindal.
Even so, it's not as though the note came from Nostradamus, or was torn from the Voynich Manuscript. There isn't any excuse for writing so badly.
And yes! BM is a terrible choice of initials.

From: Pussycat Catnap Let me build my own stuff, have a neko avatar, design my appearance my way, pick my own choice of features and skin tone cause not everybody is whitey, and have my own land that I can put my stuff that I make on...
And...
Make it stop lagging my new PC to heck and back...
and maybe I'll give it a try. That's so true! Amen!

From: Lindal Kidd Difficult, uncomfortable, impractical and not much fun, but people do it just to be able to say they did it. *wipes away tears of laughter* Thank you so much for the best laugh I have had in quite a while. From: LittleMe Jewell Well........... maybe the exhibitionists. I bet it's the same kind who do it on the Disneyland rides. Come to think of it, so far it does sound impractical. Imagine "slipping" on your mouse button in the heat of the moment and the object of your desire wanders off across the planes, chasing a blue beacon...

From: Lindal Kidd Hey...I bet sex on BM (what an unfortunate set of initials!) is like the Mile High Club. Actually, with the animation interface they now have it could be really hilarious. The way it works is, you right-click on someone and choose from a set of "interactive" animations to offer them. The person accepts, and you instantly zip to them, perform the hug or whatever, then get zipped back to where you started (or vice versa, I forget). A mentor told me it works the same across 'cities'. Sooo ... an escort is shopping in Venezia and a client offers her an anim. The escort accepts, zaps to him in his Caledonian cabin, cyber occurs and clothes come off in the course of a long anim. Anim ends and ZAP!!! back in the store in Venezia, nude! Whoohoo!

it's always amusing to see people whine about how "this place sucks, I'm going somewhere else"... if it sucks so much and the other place is so much better, why are you here instead of there?
you think we don't know about BM? you think we care? are you really that dense? were you dropped on your head as a child... or spiked like a football?

From: Novis Dyrssen What's your point, anyway? "Can't fuck here, fuck somewhere else!"?
Oh, for God's sake, fuck off. If there's sex on BM, it's chat only so far - and as long as there aren't private IMs, just bubbles floating over your head, I sincerely doubt a lot of people are doing it ... So BM is good for exhibitionists, you say? Seriously though -- yes, sex and the sex industry is the primary motivating factor in most (if not all) technology advancements. This is not news to anyone. That aside, there are few comparisons between SL and BM, from what I can determine thus far, although this will likely change one day. And on that day, people wil make their own choices. OR... Another very savvy company yet to be discovered may actually build a virtual world that satisfies everyone's needs. /me shrugs. Time marches on... the world changes... we adapt... it's called life.

From: Tristin Mikazuki Pep go play with your legos and let the adults chat huh? It's LEGO. LEGO is both singular and plural. Lego will suffice as well.

From: Pserendipity Daniels "Adults"? ROFLMAO! From the way you post you would be better off back at school learning to read and write.
Pep (Or maybe you still are?) Moreover, adults DO play with LEGO and should be proud. They are called AFOLs -- Adult Fans of LEGO... and they make some of the most awe inspiring creations outside of virtual worlds. /me winks

From: Pserendipity Daniels Dear God! All the clear windows used! That is really incredible. LEGO on that scale is damned heavy and actually surprisingly stable. A friend built LEGO furniture a couple years ago and I was amazed at how stable it was. Well, I shouldn't have been, given my own passion for ABS, but good lord -- remarkable engineering. The bog roll was great! Thank you for the link. I had not seen this.

Oh dear. Looks like this thread didn't go as was maybe hoped, with a big 'dis' of how dead SL is and a big rush over to BM. Ah well, maybe next time.
