Whatever you do within four walls on mature mainland is not against tos (eta: well, presuming it's not already against tos, Lol; but it didn't sound it).

To get around camming perhaps consider a skybox for your more private endeavors. You can use the ground lot for outdoor furniture/garden/pool.

Sounds good you are stretching your legs, relaxing a bit on a rental for the moment. One benefit of that is that the surroundings are usually much more pleasing and uniform.

After a bit you may feel antsy to own land, but watch out, it's easy to want more and more and more...before long you will be singing like veruca salt, don't care how, I want it nowwww.

Land is addictive. But yeah, having your own 512 you can do what you want with, is nice. If you got double that, the first 512 is still free tier, so it's only $5 usd a month for that 1024 all your own. (After you buy the lot off someone in world.)

You'd mentioned neighbors being offended which is why I made the somewhat tongue in cheek inquiry about being indoors.

I'm generally quite cabbaged by the time I've sat infront of the screen long enough to read through and reply to posts, and what with being a little touchy on this kind of thing at the moment, I missed the humour, sorry!



So long as it's not advertised, not reported, not spotted by a Linden with a pruification complex.. Or at least that's how I'm understanding it with the new Zindra/ Adult Content fiasco. But yes, I do my best to stick within the tos, and to ensure anyone making use of my hospitality does the same. I can't be at all places at all times, but I'd like to think everything has been law abiding



I've got a couple of skyboxes where hopefully things could be more alfresco, but I really quite like my main building, and like it being on the ground. I know SL is a virtual world of fantasy, but I always feel slightly airsick when in a house way in the sky.



Overall it's not bad where I am at the moment, although uniform isn't really what I'd call the place! Currently I'm trying to work out why something on a nearby parcel shows as a glow through my walls, I suspect it's an alpha issue with my textures, so might throw some opaque ones in for the time I'm here. I'm not going to start whinging at everyone who's been there ages the moment I move in, they were there first!



I struggle really to justify the amount it's already costing me, considering how little time and enjoyment I get myself from my place (spend far too much time getting wrapped up trying to build things), so I'll always have my desire for land tempered by my tight fisted nature.



As far as can tell, some neighbours appear to have been offended by something they must have cammed in to see. The full details haven't been made clear to me, and I'm struggling to get a clear picture from those who might have been cammed in on. But the bottom line to me is I don't really want to live somewhere where people may be making an effort to be offended - It's like those who complain about a TV program. They'll see the synopsis in the guide, then sit through the warning before the titles roll, and continue watching till the credits, before writing a stern letter of complaint and wailing such things should be banned. One would think they're almost looking to be offended...

I've also turned off voice, flying, and scripts.

And my ground floor is in fact a nice little park with a gazebo, tree, bush, and flowers, with a little bit of woodland ambient music.

Center of the Gazebo has a nifty little TP pad, and TPs into the parcel land you right in front of the gazebo.

I set it up that way to be a 'nice neighbor' - to make my parcel look pleasant, rather than garish, to those around me, so they can have an enjoyable view.

One problem with being at ground level is that unless your parcel is -very big- people in nearby areas just turning their camera are going to cam in on you all the time, even if they're at default zoom.

That's why I put my skybox at a high and somewhat random number. You have to intentionally cam in on me to cam in on me. I may be an exhibitionist, but... I don't want to do it at risk of getting hassled.

I'll walk around naked all day long at ground level, but I pull out the explicit conduct in a skybox - and I'm considering getting a 'park platform' for a second skybox with trees and an outdoor feel.
