Since sl does everything rl does, do you think men will now begin to give birth too? If you've seen the news and the Oprah Winfrey show you'd know what I mean.

Only men who were born with female avatars.

But all SL avatars are born as Ruth, regardless, so they probably can get pregnant. :D

/me shrugs

Stranger tings have happened in SL before

EDIT: In fact, when I think about this, one of the in-world locations for pregnancy was offering male pregnancy at one point. Not sure if they're still around, an dun remember the name -- but ya, it's happened before.

I'd be shocked if someone hasn't done this already.

Stan: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.
Reg: But you can't have babies.
Stan: Don't you oppress me.
Reg: Where's the fetus going to gestate? You going to keep it in a box?

It's someone who's genetically female, but now legally male, who's pregnant which isn't really that unusual from a biological standpoint.

And I think your title is backwards? He's the biological mother but would most likely become the father legally so that would make it "mom now a dad".

Judith: Here! I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the *right* to have babies.
Francis: Good idea, Judith. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister, sorry

Funny movie :-)

Better gestate than never.

Or, "I can't have a baby now. I gestate."

Has anyone checked out the hermaphrodite bits at Sensations? In SL, it might be possible for a single av to be both the father AND the mother.

"O brave new world! And such people in it."

Let me say this, I have always liked and admired Oprah and on occasion sat down to check out some of her shows. But this time I disagree with her giving air time, giving publicity to this person regardless if it's a she, a he or in between.

This person wants to be put out on display like some circus act for all to see. This is where this should be featured, in a circus along with all the other freaks and not on national television.

I'd heard about this but we weren't sure if it was some April Fools, seems not. I read they think of it as a miracle?? wtf is that all about? Yes all babies are miracles but it's not a miracle s/he/it is having one seeing how s/he has female reproductive organs still. I accept people for however they are but can't help being confused, I hear most people have a sex change as they always felt they were in the wrong body, to me surely you're one or the other not both?

It's too confusing for me on how the pregnant parent feels, if female then why change from the waist up & vice versa? I have a headache!

The only reason He agreed to have their baby is because his wife couldn't. I do wonder what kind of psychological effect this will have him after the baby is born, but hey......this is their life and their child and as long as that baby is loved, I don't really see how anything else matters.

You went cynic, but went halfway.

This couple is OBVIOUSLY doing this to try and get an endorsement deal of some kind,

Basically $$$$$$$$$$ is the reason they went public.

I've been pregnant for a solid 20 years.

I'm not fat. I'm not. It's just this damned baby. I should have known better, getting pregnant when I didn't have the necessary apparatus to give birth. My health care is bad, and the only way they'll cover the c-section is if I bundle it with another surgery, so I'm waiting for my appendix to go bad or a kidney to fail, then I'll just take care of it all at once.

Iv'e been yelling at newsreaders on TV for a few days now and turn it over to another channel as soon as they say "A man is having a baby".
The sensationalist attitude of TV gives me the s*its, outright lying to the people to gain their attention with deception is abominable. Including harpo.
If they said a "Former woman is having a baby" it may not be news but it would be the truth and I might have not killed my tv. Some people do anything for a buck.

Yes, there will be male avs carrying baby avs now. Unfortunately people will think its funny and buy them.

But of course money is the reason, isn't it always? And the network put this freak show up for the almighty ratings. Networks love to show the bizarre and the unnatural.

Poor kid.
