For those of you interested, Cory late of LL has taken a job at a university.

http://chronicle.com/wiredcampus/index.php?id=2639

Another example of how SL residents can affect RL.

Although we may prefer that anonymity be the key to SL, it is true that the changes and relationships we experience here do affect us in RL.

I know I am a lot more tolerant and although my friends are flocking to join SL, they are a lot less judgmental these days. And my creativity is awake and alive after being dormant for a long time. I learned a lot about who I am when I'm free and can do what I really want and that has affected my RL too.

My question is I guess..like Cory, how do we take what we have experienced here into RL?

I've learned patience. I don't always apply it in RL, but now I know I can when I need to. ;)

I've learned that a pry bar to the internet connection doesn't fix it. Otherwise, I'll go with the patience. I learned the not giving a damn from RL ;)

so that's another job he can add to his CV

Cory Ondrejka, who helped to program Second Life, resigned as chief technology officer on December 11, 2007. Ondrejka used the Flying Spaghetti Monster as his avatar. Previously, Ondrejka was a video game developer, worked with computers at the United States Department of Defense, served as an officer in the United States Navy, and was employed by the National Security Agency.[95]

Field work would be the coffee shops, and the outer reaches of the Planes of Power.

It's a sign of the times. Folklore used to be passed down from generation to generation, back in the days when people did not lock doors and talked to their neighbors. Now folklore is kept in libraries so that the odd person can research it for use in sports presenter chat between plays at the Superbowl.

How about "SLore" - that must be in active existance now and passed down from avatar to avatar?

It was, back in the day before Avatars were locked behind ban lines, and talked to their neighbors.
