Extremely cool--thanks!

for the record, i am NOT ALLOWED to open, view or alter scripts, nor am i able to rez things while on SLeek, so i'm not sure what all that was you were talking about at the end. i just stack prims to gether and paint pretty textures on them. LOLOL

glad i sparked something in you. good luck with it. it has graet possibilities. i can hear the wheels turning in your head from here, so i imagine this is only the infant stages of a new and extremely kewl SL invention.

you saw it happen right here, folks. you witnessed history in the making. :D

hey Qui, thanks for the free copy

I asked a couple friends to test it with me, they thought it was really cool to see from another perspective, and first things they thought of was shopping, building, group projects, and class situations. hehe

oh... would it be possible to somehow have it so it lists those who are watching you?

I kinda felt like that should have been there (if it was I must have missed it)

other than that, it seems like it might be a cool toy and handy... so as to my previous comments, I think this might have some good uses :)

also is it possible to make it so the button is more apparent when it is paused... say maybe a solid color or something (I just noticed it has an outline, but it was not apparent before) and not sure if the outline is paused or not LOL)

(I had this all typed as a reply in PM so as not to bump this thread inappropriately, but I also don't want to appear to dodge the question, so...)

Behind the scenes, the sender keeps a cache of receivers who've been granted or denied authorization to watch since Reset, but it can't actually know whether any of those authorized are actively watching at the moment. I thought about adding a button to format and dump that "authorization cache" to chat, but worried it would be more misleading than useful. (Receivers cached as authorized can reconnect--if they relog after a crash, say--without having to interrupt you for authorization again, and those cached as denied authorization will keep getting automatically denied till Reset, as a counter to any "denial of service" griefing, but that info may not be very interesting in normal use.)

:D Well, outlined in orange sorta means "on air": sending cam information (left button) and/or receiving (right). Indeed, giving the whole button an orange tinge while active may be a more distinct cue, and it's a timely suggestion: I've been obsessing over subtle changes to the graphics. (The look is intended to be kinda inconspicuous, desaturated, alpha'd "Dazzle-esque".)

Thanks, Qie! That's a fun device to play with. I can see it being a great tool for collaborating on projects with multiple people; we're remodeling our store and moving it across the water and this is useful to have multiple avatars view and discuss planning and object placements. I will play around with it more later.

thanks for the replies qui

your comment about the cached authorized being able to reconnect if they relog
what happens if you reset during that time, will they still be able to reconnect?

also if you take off the device, does that stop anyone connected from being able to follow your cam (or if you relog) or does it have to be reset?

(my other question is more for one on one questioning so will catch you in world eventually)

me thinks you might need a FAQ LOL
