My RL has recently employed an alt, mainly for humdrum administration and test purposes, meaning I can get on with doing intersting things. I am still the star of the show, I've been assured. I call this boring alt the 'test-bot' who seems destined to live the life of the eternal newbie.

but if you do plan on making alts, DO NOT USE THE SAME E-MAIL AS YOUR MAIN ONE, make like a seprate free account Why do you say this? All four of my avies have the one email address. Only Linden can compare email addresses, no-one in-world. What is the problem please? and Maelstrom, right-click your SecondLife shortcut, click properties, then add the " -multiple" to the end of the Target (Win XP) and it's TWO spaces in there!

I wanted a second to try out cybernetic limb attachments on rather than defile my own 'basic' body.  However it would be nice to know the actual rules - I dont like breaking rules. Well not much. The advice you've gotten is correct. There is no cost. You may have as many alts as you wish, and you do not need more than one email address. One rule does exist, although it has obviously been violated by the "zombie masters" with their lakes of alts: You may not create more than two alts PER DAY. |
