Bod must be an abbreviation for Emilia stands to reason, when you look at it ![]() _____________________

um...isn't Redgrave the clothing store owned, and all the items designed by, Emilia Redgrave? If there's a pointer to a store in Emilia Redgrave's picks, then it is very easy to see if it is the same or different place. _____________________

The use of alts for business purposes is very common, so it is not impossible that they are the same store. Go to the Redgraves store in Bod's picks, which he also said was his in the posting I pointed to, and you will find very high quality items indeed. It sounds like Bod had an active social live, so it very likely would be easier for him/her to use other avatars for business. If there's a pointer to a store in Emilia Redgrave's picks, then it is very easy to see if it is the same or different place. Bods profile is empty, stating he left on the 2nd of Jan. Why so long for the farewell though o.O _____________________

I'm getting very confused but I'm a he, I haven't given birth, she could avoid making an assumption either way and why would I create an Alt to tell her she's a loser?

One thing that is clear: This is not the sort of person SL should be losing. : ( The great thing about all online communities is every time a skilled person moves on someone else pops in or steps up to take his or her place. Seen it dozens of times over. SL is no different. Is there some short term loss? Yes. But in the long term it is healthy for the community. As no one is irreplaceable in this medium. _____________________

or copy their way in with the creator awol, to stay on topic *shrugs* It happenes and crying over it won't stop it. Does it, frankly, suck? Certainly. But whining and throwing a tantrum isn't going to resolve it. Just make somthing better and put it out there. And no I am NOT defending those that steal, I am however aware of the realities and what is in our power to stop. This is not one of them. _____________________

Time moves more quickly in online environments than it does irl, I think. That alone can make having a business in SL a little trickier than having a real-life business.
But SL is, I think, more than any other environment I've been in - online or in the real world - like being in a war zone. It's like a constant battle zone, with various grenades and other material going off all over the place that you try to dodge, and landmines everywhere. Both from what some residents do, and mainly from what LL itself does. LL changes the playing field on a regular basis - unlike in the real world, where you feel you have much more control over your business and your future. In SL, it's like the ground shifts every week or so right under your feet! And then there are just all the little glitches, always the little glitches. I've always kind of felt I picked my way AROUND most of what happens in SL, and sort of tried to carry on a business anyway, between the mayhem. I do! I always feel like I'm dodging bullets and trying to create and run a business DESPITE what all is going on around me! But I long since came to understand it as a constant war zone, in terms of survival as a businessperson. That can take it out of you, and take away from the things that actually give you pleasure in creating things and running a business in SL. I think that can get to other people more than it does me. coco _____________________
