Banned from Property because ---- Why?

Hello everyone,

Here's a quick little story which I wonder if anyone can relate to or had similar experiences.

I was walking through a small residential community and came across a large home for rent: a "For Rent" box was just outside it's front door.

The house's front door was open, and I was interested, so I went in to do a walk through. The house was completely empty.

When I exited the house, I saw banlines nearby. They were not there before I went into the house. I noticed an avie standing nearby, "staring" at me. Suddenly, I was whisked off the property and saw the message: "You are removed and banned."

I IMed the perpetrator (the avie I saw) and asked her why this occured. She said it happened because I was in a private residence. I told her it was for rent, and the door was open! No reply. Nothing. Nada.

Frankly, I was suprised at my anger (nothing serious, but still surprising). I just don't get it.

Anyway, as you all know SL is a big world full of all kinds of people, polite or rude, pleasant or nastry, smart or stupid. I guess at that place I met the latter of each.

yep she is is pretty stupid, if that's how she treats a potential renter.

I think some people just like drama. Maybe she was having a boring, drama-free day and just needed to create some?

I have to agree that it makes absolutely no sense to have a "for rent" sign out side of a home and then expect that no one will enter that home. I certainly would want to check something out before I rented it. Maybe the sign was just bait to create the drama.

Don't post the name here in the forums, but make sure you let all of your friends know that this is not a person to rent from.

That reminds me of when I stood in a well known night club for about 10 minutes. Never said anything to anyone, then tped out. Went to take my partner back later that night and found I was banned. The reason given .. I don't know. They don't know who banned me nor the why I was banned. So they banned him as well.

Actually, why should you care? SL is big enough to just move on and forget the unpleasant occurrences.

Maybe the AV was really the tenant, rent overdue but security system still working--and with every motivation to keep prospective renters off the premises till she could scare-up the L$s. (Wonder if there was any relation between that AV and the parcel-owner/group--if so, then my theory is sunk.)

Good point, Damien1. Thanks. I will do that.

Although SL is big, it is still a "small world" when it comes to our reputations as a businessperson or an SL resident.

It would be worth finding out whether or not the person that banned you was the property owner or the former tenant.

If I were to take a wild guess, I would say that area recently had a few un-invited encounters of the sexual kind. The one that booted you was probably an over reacting tenant that was given to much authority by an over reacting land owner.

Water under the bridge, just walk away and enjoy life. Odds are you will never see them again anyway.

Heehee isn't that insane?! How drama in a little cartoon world can make you almost pop a vein. There are people out there who feed off of that. I would have to agree with the theory of a renter who lapsed. I can't possibly see a landlord kicking potential renters to the clouds.

I can. Maybe the Landlord didnt realize the rent had lapsed,

And didnt want to admit to making a mistake when they did find out.

Might be the tennant next door has ban eject powers on all the groups land so decided he like haveing a vacant house next door or is keeping it for a friend, or wants to coax the Landlord into dropping rents.

Only if your extremely curious. Otherwise just be thankful that not everyone in the world is that big of an idiot and move on.
