Caledonia on Mars??????

Ah, here we go then... I was afraid this would happen.


I would gently request that ah... well, I don't think it sends the right message to discuss all this in SL official forums.

I think it is *very* important for people to realise:

a) I am a die~hard SL fanboy to this day, and am not going anywhere.

b) I expect to be improving Caledon here for *years* to come. We've got mesh on the way. A new 2.0 client viewer (or whatever it's called lately). Other things too that a little bird told me. 2010 will be a *very* interesting year for SL.

c) Eventually all this will calm down and not be a big deal.



That said ~ I don't want to discuss anything, positive or negative, about other projects here; if anyone wants to do that, catch up with me on SLUniverse.

Also, this project is *so* new that there's little to discuss yet anyway. Would I come this far to leave any project, inside of SL or out, static? My skill has been to unlock the skills of... everyone else. And if there is anything to be counted on, it's that I'm up to *something* ~ I trust that has been established at this point....

I believe that in a pinch, you can substitute dental floss.

You can get one-on-one inworld Q&A help in BM's "Welcome" city, it seems. But their faq and tutorials, on the website, pretty much say what there is to know. If you don't see a description of how to do something, it probably doesn't exist yet. E.g. you cannot just login and friend Des - there is no 'people search' capability. [That may be one thing he likes about the platform *wink*]

If you're really interested in a quick learning curve, register for their forums. Actual devs can be seen there asking and answering questions.

And there is also SLU's 'other virtual worlds' subforum, and Rock Vacirca's BM blog.

I think here are so many sick people in SL

I love the way you can change your avatar name to anything you like over there, and as often as you like, and how you want it displayed, or not at all (although right-clicking any avatar will reveal their name). I also love the fact that in your inventory you get a little thumbnail of the item so you can see what 'Object' actually is, without having to rezz it to find out.

Currently flying is only switched on in New Venice, and teleporting in New Venice and Caledonia (3rd party cities).

edit: /me browses through the BM developer site as she waits for the dev tools to download and install. They actually have real forums there. Ones where you can post links that work and do nicely formatted scripts and all that. None of the crap with no formatting LL has done here or the 197 bazillion functions, none of which really work, crap on the new blogrums. Hello? Time to start paying attention, LL!!! This is easy stuff to fix and you've had YEARS.
