Hey I was wondering if you can send messages to people that are in the game when you are currently not. For example I have internet access at my job but do not have SL installed on any of the computers here. I know that when I log in on the site I can see what friends are online and in game and when they send me a message when I am not in game I can still read the message in my email. What I want is to respond to those messages when I am not in the game is there a way to do this?
And if there is not a way to do this where can I suggest it?

If someone IMs you when you are not online, and that IM gets stored in your e-mail, you can reply to it like normally replying to e-mail. Your reply will be IMed to the person if in-game, or stored in their e-mail if not (if they have their settings set that way).

I use msn for my e-mail and when I reply to an offline message it bounces every time. FaTeke

FaTeke That's strange, it's always worked every time I've used it. It'd be interesting to know why it might work for some and not others. My guess would be that there is header or graphical information that Second Life doesn't like to bounce from e-mail to IM. I always set my e-mail programs to use text only (not html or anything with fancy formatting), and when I've done the replying, I have removed text that might be quoted from the original, and any automatic footers that might otherwise get attached to my e-mail. The body of my e-mail could be cut-and-paste verbatim to an IM. That's guessing though. I bet someone knows.

When someone IM's you and it goes to your email, you only have so many days to respond to that specific IM....I think someone had said that it was good for 3-5 days. After that it fails. Also, I've had it fail when I've tried saying too much in my response. So, I keep it short...and also make sure I delete the message I'm responding to.

That's guessing though. I bet someone knows. I have tried on yahoo to respond to IM's I have recieved and they all bounce back to me. I am so silly I get on the game and forget to sign up for these great sites lol. Maybe when I get home from work tonight I will remember to go and sign up for these things that allow me to send IM's when I am not in the game. LOL. I am so addicted cant get enough of this game now lol. Thanks for all your help in this matter gonna try out some of these sites.
