I think we now have to declare American as a totally separate language from English - I haven't understood more than two words in ten of Jumpy's posts.
Although I suspect I might be coming out the better side of that equation....

Inc I reckon a lot of Americans would find your statement broadly offensive  Jumpy can type much more understandably, it's just an attention getting thing like those people who type "teh" all the time, sorta like how spewing over the side of a boat can attract fish better than any pedigree bait worms

I generally prefer American literature and speech patterns over any other variety of English with the possible exception of Irish English with its complex bells and whistles of paradox and irony. I love the way Murkans throw out all the legalese grammar and extra bits of spelling we don't really need - except for the 'z' thing. I hate the 'z' thing. The only legitimate use for 'z' in my lexicon is 'size' and we all know that doesn't matter.
