From: Colette Meiji I think they only do tipping in Texas and Kansas. Oh, I've tipped, and in Virginia.

How about a bourbon? Maker's Mark on the rocks? Better make it a double. On second thought, what's the biggest glass you have. I'll need a straw and an ambulance.
Can I have a piece of Marionberry pie with that? It's my favorite. Yeah, have that bourbon... then we can go tipping... laughs -d

-d Drunken cow tipping? Count me in! Sounds like a pretty good Friday night. Can you script something to react when it is being run into? Something to do with SL's collision detection system? If so, we could have a cowtipping party. I guess you could script a tipping over animation pretty easily and then click on the cow to tip it over? I'd rather run into it.

I haven't actually tipped a cow. Only a bison.

Almost off-the charts slutty. Shame on you and congratulations. -- Trout

From: Hate Hastings Cow tipping? Time to break out the cow suit - I need the money... Sounds interesting. How much to you tip a woman in a cow costume who goes by the name of Hate? Frankly, I would be afraid to try to tip over a cow by the name of Hate.

I'm a dancer..well, a stripper actually in SL. My income depends on tips. My tips range from 10L to 400 or 500L at the most. The are all good, they are all appreciated, and they all add up.
first, I'm delighted that someone cares enogh aboutmy performance, my costume, and my verbal interaction with them to take the time and trouble to tip. On a recent, very good night, I made about 1000 Ls all in tips under 100L. they add up. Also even a small tip of 10 or 20L has an effect on others in the audience - it encourages them to tip.
I would say my average tip is 50L. Also what people inthe club wher eI work do is tip smaller amounts frequently rather than just one big tip. An example would be getting four 50L tips rather than one 200L tip.
As a performer, my answer would be tip an amount you're comfortable with. No matter how small, it WILL be appreciated by most decent people.
A tip plus an encouraging comment is always nice.
I hope this helps.

From: Trout Recreant I'd really like to also hear from people who work for tips. What do you all expect to make and do you judge people based on the size of their tips? Well, I hostess events freelance, usually places when my buddies (or their buddies) need help, though I did work for a venue as a host for 6 months or so. I have received tips ranging from the lowest at 50L all the way up to 1000L. Usually in these cases the person sponsoring the event will tip me as well, and I have received as much as 2000L. It depends on the event duration and theme. If I helped organize in any way, the tip/pay is usually higher from the promoter of the event. I LOVE all the tips, no matter what size. People giving me money to do something fun?? How can you not love that. *note: One thing I have noticed is if the DJ is really good, my tips go up. As for my own tipping, I just base it on my feelings at the moment, but I DO tip on average: Event Hosts - 300-1000L DJ's - ave 500L Club Dancers - (especially the pretty ones ) - varies, but ave. is about 200-300L Live Performers - ave is about 300L: If I really like them, it will prob be more. Class Teachers - If there is no fee, I will tip about 75L, if a fee I give another 10-15%. A Custom Builder/Designer: I will tip with a gift if the work is good, usually I will sneakily find out that person's favorite store and get them a gift certificate. Beautiful Builds/Sims: I like to donate to these to help pay the tier, usually whatever I'm feeling at the moment which is usually fairly generous I think. I do not tip: Those random tip jars out at stores/shops that are already getting your Lindens because you are buying their creations. To me, it's like the tip jars that have suddenly sprung up in the donut/sandwich/fast food places - "Er...all you did was hand me a donut, and I should tip you why?".... Sol
