Hey All,

First of all, How is everyone doing today? Me? Im doing excellent.

Anyways, I am posting on this forum because i want to get a car (freebie) and one thats small and rideable. So can someone tell me a good place to get a car and HOW to use one?

P.S. I know im a noob, but hey, Im learning

Nissan Island used to have a pretty good freebie, I think...if it's still there. Oh, and any car or other scripted object you pick up will generally include a notecard with instructions.

I heard Nissan pulled out. They had that giant vendor machine that distributed cars.

If they are gone.. go to Yadni's Junkyard and look at the boxes there. I am sure he has one with vehicles in it.

For freebie cars I'd try the NCI headquarters in Kuulah, and Yadni's junkyard.

Renault is said to have been giving away free SL cars in SL, which I just found out by Googling for

"free cars" "second life"

I'm at the location but haven't seen the car yet.

If the land you're on is no build (look at the top center of your viewer), then probably not. Most vehicles need to be dragged out of inventory onto the ground and you won't be able to do that if building is disallowed.

ETA: The dragging out of inventory is called rezzing...you'll probably hear that a lot, so i wanted to clarify the point.

My rsponse to an earlier query on the same issue:
If you want a smart car for free check out Seat in SL. (Seat Auto Emocion Island, SEAT auto emocion (69, 52, 32)). They've got a couple of nice freebies - Ibiza in citrus and Leon in black, and a more upmarket Cupra model if you complete their driving test, which is certainly doable.

I looked around. Jinx and Redshift are both kind of wastelands. There are some parcels that allow rezzing and have plenty of prims available on the parcel to hold a car, but there's not a heck of a lot one could do with a car there, once rezzed. (Beware of bumping into No Entry banlines: they send you flying quite violently into the air and your vehicle back to your Lost & Found folder.)

Burns is much, much more promising. Although the roadway in that sim is no-rez, just across the Eastern border is Neumoegen, where the roadway permits rezzing, and there's even a cute little "Road Station" up the hill across from Neumoegen Station on the SLRR. That road gives you driving access to the entire Hetercera Atoll road network.

If you go to the Twingo Lab by the track there's a couple of posters on the wall, one gives a HUD, the other gives a range of differing colour twingos - at least it appears to.
I tried rezzing one but was told the region was full. Tried rezzing it on my home turf and got the chassis/seats/interior but no bodywork. Not sure if it's a slow rez thing or stuff removed from SL inventory servers.

Update: when you sit on the chassis you get an attachment which turns out to be the car bodywork so it's not a lag problem.

Neumoegen is a good place to cruise around if u dont mind the center of the earth pot holes u can find..

but took my bike there and rode around but sl kept messing with me and kept crashing
