Sounds highly unlikely, given the costs involved.

If a Resident was willing to do it, and pay the land price then it'd be ok. That's if it was strictly RolePlay on their land and they didn't go eound pretending to be the real Second Life Police :P Then they'd be in Breach of CS/ToS.

Linden Lab wont help with it at all, because they've always said they wont affiliate themselves with nor will they endorse Second Life Police Groups.

I have already noticed one place called "Bay City Police Station" there (or something similar). I thought that perhaps slightly dubious, as there is so much Linden-owned municipal architecture that somebody unaware might think it was Linden-approved, whereas they would be less likely to in another context.

That reminds me of the "Scion City Police" who are really wanna-be "Crips" from The Byrd Gang group. I COULD see some knuckleheads tryna be the "Bay City PD", but I bet they would get shut down relatively quick.

I CAN see other types of Groups startin up...but not neccessarily groups that own Land in Bay City, but RP in Bay City nonetheless. It can be done without having RP enforced...take the Wastelands for example. It's a Residential Sim, but RP is everywhere. RP ain't 100% "enforced", so that the Residents who rent there can opt to RP, or not. Crack Den Estates is pretty much the same concept. So I think groups can be formed that RP in Bay City at ANY time, even right now.

...as a matter of fact, the earlier any Bay City RP groups come together...the more they would influence Bay City as it develops.

hehe, if i had the group space and stuff i would probuly try and start up a FD thing in bay city, most of the old SLFD admins and camunity bought up a good 3/4 of lestern city to have a new city to rp in, and if it would exspand in to baycity .... shit, lol that is a good 5-10 sims make it very very realistic, fire in one sim FD 4 sims away take like 5 minutes to get there by the time we get there BOOM full out fire and group of peaple lmao XD

You could always go the Alt route if Group space is the only problem (??):cool:

Yup! There is a Police building in Docklands.
Just before SL went quiet on me, followed by "Despite out best effort, you are screwed", I noticed a police person standing there.
He's got megaprim muscles, so nobody would believe that he's a real LL policeman -- would they?

I'll chat him up as soon as I can log in.
- or behave badly in front of him

Well, they wouldn't believe he was a RL policeman. A megaprim stomach, perhaps.

yes I finally made it out to see the Bay City and that was the first thing that struck me, it's a lovely build, and would be great for many RP scenarios. However, since every place is no build and in some cases no script, it really can't be utilized very well for RP. Sad really. It's like a museum, beautiful and useless.

I aint seen the Cop Shop yet, but I feel the same way about the Asylum. Maybe cause it looks cooler than the last one I was in & all the staff is dead.

...not that I condone violence.

*adjusts holster under his vest*

Hey, they wouldn't let me use secondlife. ;)

Yes, The Asylumn was my favorite part. Sadly it seemed all the Lindens had already escaped though. :p

Last night, a land dealer who has bought a number of parcels in Bay City was observed crossing the bridge from Barcola in an ambulance.
With siren blaring and lights flashing, he crashed the gates of the Asylum.
He turned just short of the building and then disappeared off to the West along the main highway.
The man was obviously SLdrunk judging by the standard of driving.

Just another night in Bay City.
Call the cops!

There was a group of firefighters running around for a while. They would set a building on fire, then roll up in their trucks and put it out. It looked like great fun. I don't recall them taking themselves very seriously - they were just goofing off having a good time.

I can see something like that in Bay City. Buildings catch on fire, car wrecks, twister sets down in the Bay City Trailer Park, Neko gets stuck up a tree, etc.

Feral child Sling Trebuchet (junior) was today involved in a number of dangerous incidents.

She was first observed riding a stolen BMW motorbike outside the Bay City Police Station.
She entered that station and burnt rubber in a flagrant act of disrespect for authority.

A number of residents were lucky not to be run down as the child headed at high speed for the bright lights of Barcola, were she evaded arrest by local police.

Shortly afterwards she narrowly escaped death during a terrorist incident.

Call the cops!!
Call social services!!

LMAO "Neko gets stuck up a tree"...classic.

Yeah, that actually sounds cool...I need to take about 30 mins today & "rediscover/recon" Bay City, just ta see who's buyin the Land & what not. Last I checked the traffic on the map kinda looked "weak" compared to week 1.

ROFL?

Wow...I don't know who you are 1st-time-poster-Alt, but after lookin at this video, I would almost recommend becoming full-time sandbox griefers.

Whenever I go, usually there are more ppl than say last Summer, BUT, all they do is orbit avs, sink avs, & otherwise grief passers-by while they tell each other how "sexy" they are. Call me old-fashioned, but I remember actual conversations there back in the day...look at me off-topic again.

Enough about you

With the widespread abuse of steroids he would need both. And a shaved head.

Whatever sinking avas is, orbit doesn't work anymore. We couldn't even be able to grief passers, cause the other sim is 4m away.

But its ok, at least you used a smilie named "cool", right? That hides the insults you get away with now. ;)

What you recommend isn't really what I care about. I recommend that you keep it.

Yes, this was off-topic, but I seriously don't feel comfy if I write my first post here and some whoever comes up and has nothing better to do than insulting me.
