I enjoy horseback riding and many times (due to also enjoying Medieval themes) I would prefer to ride in a dress. However, the horse attaches to the pelvis - same place skirts generally attach. I tend to not have a lot of luck when I try to change attachment points with items. Any ideas or tips for a workaround to this? I haven't investigated the sidesaddle horses since I would think they attach to the pelvis as well, plus I prefer not to go that route. Thanks in advance for any suggestions on this

Make a copy of the skirt in question. Rename the copy Riding Skirt and attach that to spine. Wear horse normally. Now...reposition the skirt so it lays properly while on the horse. When dismounting, switch to the proper dress piece. If this interferes with a collar or some article of jewelry...my apologies. Was just a suggestion.

/me waves back. No problem. The other suggestion I was gonna post was to buy a horse that allows you to ride side saddle. Then I remembered/realized that would properly attach to pelvis as well.

For the skirt, try the Stomach as an optional point instead of the spine. I've found that skirts attached to the spine look "off" in some sit poses and animations.
Pelvis or Stomach has no such problems.

Well considering she's riding a horse, her flexi skirts are going to look all jacked up anyway, relatively speaking. I think it wouldn't really matter one way or another where she attaches it, as long as it's not her shoulder or something.

ROFL Unless you want to spend four hours sitting on the horse editing that skirt to sit just so while riding, only to have it blown into your face by the wind I tend to ride my unicorn in the old glitchpants and slip me skirt back on when I dismount. Meanwhile, the side-saddle thing sounds interesting and been thinking of adding a horse to the stables, so might just go shopping around.

Problem Solved!!

Thank you again so much Joseph, Jessica, Oryx & Sally! I IM'd the designer of the horse I plan to purchase and got some great info! (Lesson learned - when in doubt, try the vendor *blushes*) This particular vendor has just come out with a new 08 line of horses that are made with 3 additional attachment points for the horses (stomach, chest, spine - if I recall correctly) in addition to the pelvis. He said to use one of those attachments and then just edit a bit to "sit right." Decided to give this a try with the kaiila I purchased months ago from the same vendor and it worked like a charm. IM'd designer to thank him and he said "Oh! The kaiila haven't been updated with the new attachment points yet." Told him that with minor adjusting and attaching it to my stomach, it worked great....so the 08 horses that are *made* specifically with more natural attachment points should be no problem. Designer also mentioned that not all skirts attach to the pelvis. Checked through my wardrobe and, waddya know...some are attached to stomach. (They will become my riding dresses...lol.) And a final note - the 08 sidesaddle horses have the same multiple choice attachment points, but come with the stomach attach point as the default.

Thanks! Hi April! Probably one of the best known Medieval sims is Avilion - they have a rp town/area, a lovely ballroom, and a large store with a decent selection of Medieval clothes...although more capes than dresses. (WONDERFUL capes though!) A lot of wonderful suggestions are in this thread: /327/a9/223714/1.htmlIf you would like to IM me in world...I also have a number of lm's for Medieval clothes. (My partner and I had a Medieval-themed partnering ceremony so I think I hit every place that sells that period clothing in SL...lol.)
