How many people who saw that will even know Second Life exits to even render an opinion? I don't think it will have much of an effect either way.

true, there are many who do not know what SL even is, itold one person and he was like "im not into mmorpg's" which, when did SL get considerd an MMORPG?, its not, its an MMO

Plenty of roleplaying goes on here.

So this wasn't as entertaining as the South Park WoW episode then?

TV, ah yes...its that black box thingy in my livingroom that collects dust.

I'm with you there Honey. In fact, mine collected so much dust I finally threw it out. Now if I want to watch tv I just do it on the net. I do that once every 6 months if I'm really bored.

Nothing can be as entertaining as any South Park episode.

Just as I was deciding it was probably the worst piece of television I'd seen the storm kocked out the signal. Thanks, Mother Nature! :D

I wish there had been some kind of tie in to SL. I'll bet a million people watched that episode and said to themselves "Wouldn't it be cool if there really was a game like tha."

A couple years back I was running an underground robot combat competition in Las Vegas.

I couldn't appear myself as I was filming an episode of Monster Garage while they were shooting it and I wasn't gonna pass up that opportunity!

It is now official. Lord Berchot has the coolest RL of anyone in SL. Or maybe he's just a great storyteller. Either way, that's seriously cool.

/nitpick

It was called "Another Youniverse" or AY for short.

/endnitpick

I watch too much television and far too closely.

Anyone got a stinky fish handy they want to wack me in the head with?

lol, It's a little of both most of the time, but yeah I do have fun.
You can see me on a few episodes of battlebots, I had all the Monkey bots, on Robotica I had the shark robot that lost miserably but on Robot Wars the shark did much better. Season 2 Extreme warriors. On Monster Garage I did Ep. 33, the radio control race car, spit some fireballs and guested on Hellica and did the 2 hour special "Monsterize Everything".
Never made it on Junkyard wars though. That show was cool.

Or check out some of my old show vids on youtube, my username is Mnkeeboy.

(The preceding self promotional part was just to prove I am who I say I am, lots of people need proof and I don't fault them a bit!)

Show business is a crazy job. Hurry up and wait. Then rush like crazy to get it done. It'll chew you up quick then throw you out like a used paper towel. Crazy way to make a living but I loved it. It does take it's toll on you. 20 years of fire eating baked the teeth right out of my mouth and I blew out my knee chasing Charlie Chaplin (not the original, I aint that old) during a show in Pa. Now I'm a Virtual Landlord lol. Yeah if it ain't fun why bother doing it? But I'd bet 5 Lindens that LL got paid for providing research for that show.

saw the episode....

the vr used in that episode looked like the over-hyped sex world version of SL(can't think of the name of it) thats out there now, as they do have clubs like that. as to the age play spin, well ill just offer sanctuary to all minis from the knee jerk reaction this MAY cause.

sad thing is i forgot to tape Eureka, and i skipped it to watch this ep of L&O:SVU :(

umm how do i get Trout Certified?

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I watched the episode today and didn't think it was a great advertisement for SL, if people made the connection between it and Another Youniverse. First of all, it made it seem like people could pretty easily find you in real life. Somehow the stalker in AY found the woman behind the avatar in RL and kidnapped, raped and killed her.

Also, it made the whole thing seem very Big Brother-ish. The guy in charge of AY was able to very easily bring up all these pictures of any given avatar doing various things...and tracked who they were with and how many times. And all of this just with the push of a button. And he spit out the personal information of several avatars with, it seemed, no court order--although I could be wrong about that.

And, the underlying message of the whole thing was a bit sordid. The girl who was killed played, in AY, a 14-year-old girl who worked in a sex club. And SPOILER ALERT.....

....at the end of the show, the killer met with a girl he had kidnapped 20 years ago (in RL) when she was just 15. When he saw her, he was disgusted at how she had aged and made some remark about how "In the computer, they stay young forever." Yuck.

It was a bit fun to see a bit at the end of the show when they needed to track down a cabin in the real-world that the killer had build a model of in AY.....it was night in AY and they needed to see the sun so they could see what side of the lake the cabin was built on. The detective was demanding that the owner of the place "turn the sun on" and he was hesitating, saying, "We've never done that before! We are going to freak out 5 million people!" Hee-hee.

Eliminated Sexual Age Play? Hah.

You guys are about to get a shock within the next coming months, and LL will be on the defensive *sighs n pouts*

Because LL ignores abuse reports, 20/20 is going to have a field day.

:( As per usual... If only they listened to the support tickets and abuse reports, following them up.

Now theres just going to be trouble.

Sounds like an interesting episode, hope it airs here, though being in New Zealand we are probably years behind.
