Grid's down for repair. Only LL employees can get in. And somebody forgot to put up the apes page. :(

Yep, I just got kicked out... there was an inworld message asking everyone to log off, but before I had time to finish saying goodbye to my friends, *ping* you have been disconnected.

:(

I'd sooner it was down and being fixed, than up with inventory problems.

I was a bit irked by not getting even a 3 minute warning. Not that I could have actually tidied things up (the prims I'm stuck with in my living room wouldn't delete anyhow), but would have been nice to have been able to say "Look, I might not be around after they fix the grid, but..." to the people I was mid-conversation with.

Hopefully they've got Sunday staff to address this, or it may be a long afternoon spent coding LSL offline for me...

what what what?

I just got quickly and sloppily through some coding here, myself, so that I can pop into SL for a live show.

Grid's down? You mean I could have done my work properly? Geez!

Grrr.. and here I was getting ready to log in! I guess.. I should go hunt some breakfast.

With the asset quirks mentioned in the blog earlier, I was only thinking of getting on and exploring anyways. It'd be silly to work on anything else.. or go shopping. Although I wanna go shopping.

haha, dont go shopping, it might be illegal gambling, see this:

(1) you put in money
(2) the result if you get your stuff is pretty random.
(3) there is a possible pay out (your bought items)

so its illegal gambling, isnt it? :-) (kidding)

Darn. Now I have to strip the christmas three in RL. And fill the dishwasher. I wish it was a button for boring work in RL.
(christmas three = christmas tree) :) Right spelling now?

Seriously. While the outage is a pain, as I have building an other stuff I wanna do, I'd rather go with the outage (I can work on textures, or animations, or sounds... or hey, look at that laundry pile) than find my inventory messed up or lose all the stuff I'm working on.

I'd rather not have either, of course -- but if I hadda choose, this would be the option.

Nope - it's just Wednesday already in Lindenland. According to the new LL clock (to be unveiled real soon now,) Wednesday lasts 96 hours, other days last 8 hours, and we only get one Saturday every alternate month. Plus we'll have to agree to a TOS amendment that "LL may impose a Wednesday, as required, at their own discretion and without prior warning..." before we're allowed to log in again.

but Phillip promised!
01-06-2008 07:50
Here is Phillip Rosedale's promise to us all from his blog entry of Nov. 21:

"But we’ve also started to change in the way I had promised in September. Our downtimes have been lower for September and October than during the summer, we have done a better job communicating and handling the release process, we’ve identified and fixed some sources of content loss, and have a solid plan and work underway for substantially reducing both client and server crashing in Q4 and Q1."

Phillip also promised monthly blog entries too in his blog entry too...

You just reminded me, I still have to do that in SL too (the christmas tree bit, that is)!
