Help please!!!!!!!

I was in SL when my avatar kinda froze as in no moving.Prior to that I was a white ghost so I had relogged in. Now I keep getting messages that Im being logged out and can't re-enter til a specific noted time. When the time comes I relog and get a new message that I can't log in til anothe time (its about 5 mins from when the actual time is).Have I sl died??????

I think you are "ghosting" . . . or something. Someone much cleverer than I will explain what is happening here, but the key thing is you don't need to panic. It will fix. Usually within 20 minutes or less.

/me hopes that someone cleverer than she shows up on this thread soon . . .

I was stuck just a couple of days ago. File a support ticket. The solution that they gave me was clear cache and log into Pooley sim. It must be a special setup in that sim since my avatar was still ghost in the original sim, but I was still able to log in and when I entered the sim I was ghost in, the ghost disappeared.

Probably ghosted. It usually clears itself in a relatively short period of time.

Ghosted means you are actually not connected to the servers but the servers have not logged you off yet..............so the servers think you are still logged on. That normally happens when you crash hard to your desktop, but can happen when you loose connection to the servers (which is what it sounds like has happened to you). While you wait for your avatar to be logged off you might try clearing your cache and resetting your modem and/or router.............modems and routers needing to be rebooted (or reset) is probably the biggest reason people loose connection to the servers.

If the problem lasts for more than about a half hour you might submit a support ticket asking for a restart of the sim you were last in (if on Mainland). If you were on a private estate, you can request a restart from the estate owner. All that means, of course, is that you need to know where you were when it all happened.

Pooley, hmmm - I shall have to remember that.

Almost any quiet sim with few scripts or large texture rich environments will do the same. I know Philudoria will serve as well.

Its been over an hour..I'm getting twitchy without my SL fix hahaha. I have lodged a support ticket thanks for the advice to date. Might have to start with a new avatar but I did so love my name ((((((( not to mention the clothes and hair I had collected!! lol

Thank you anyway. I have filed the ticket. I thought maybe after a time it might log me out cause it used to if I were inactive I think for 30 minutes but its been about 75 mins (yes im counting hahaha) so i dont think it will happen (

Nope, I don't think Pooley has any magical powers. Just a quiet Mainland sim......like so many others.
