From: Sindy Tsure Dead realm? That's a mature sim. Since you're asking... Maybe it's more perception than reality but I've thought that you haven't had much new stuff that I'm interested in over the last few months. When I've been to dead realm or seen your vendors about, it seems like you're concentrating on new bondage gear. Your latex outfits are some of the best but I'm not too interested in the truly kinky stuff. That and your shoes, which are some of the best looking in SL, really can't be danced in - I haven't worn my steel heels in 6 months.. Agreed; furthermore, although I always tell people to go look at Dead Realm as one of the best executed environments in SL, bar none, the vendors can be a bit impenetrable to use - and there's been an immense explosion in competing businesses, a lot of whom are "fluffier" in their presentation, if not the intended use of the items! (by the way, I'm sure you know this already, but trying to tell Americans that there is a sensuality to BDSM, in the european idiom, is a bit like telling Germans not to be so obsessively tidy. After a while, you just give up...)

From: Mia Lian Just keep your calm and try to adjust to the market. Good Luck! Thanks for the kind words and help people, I am a bit rash sometimes. After a lie down I feel better now. But I must keep trying because I like to create, I always have. And I like a challenge, like scripting. Thanks again. Now I must log on....

@Kyrah another factor could be all that +transfer stuff you got there... market glut and all.... why buy from the best when you can get "hand-me-downs" frequently for free? (and I've seen alot of your creations passed on)... also I don't see KDC mentioned as much word of mouth these days... that and I've ALWAYS hated those huge KDC wall vendors.... don't know why... still you are on my "Names/Products Referral List" of places to send people looking for X product... =) so I hope things turn up for you
can't address sales figures of my own, as I'm "working up" to going live with a business (and probably in over my head already, but hey why not)

From: Sensual Casanova Hey Korn,
A few suggestions... Thanks Sensual you are correct, but in the last month I have done all those things you mention. Hasn´t helped at all. SL is a game engine. Someone has turned my (allow to make Lindens) sliders down.

My sliders have been turned down as well.
Is it possible that the 40,000 members online during peak times are 50% bots or campers? Fake accounts just stagnent?
Traffic has also been going down, but login numbers up. I'd like to know where all the people are "going", when every place seems abandoned except 20 campers.

Login numbers are up - But the worlds expanded even faster thus lower traffic numbers. Login numbers are up - but LindenX activity has remained nearly flat as I can tell, that means people arent spending any more money than before. (and on average they are spending less)

More likely thee high bot percentage is offpeak, bots would run 24/7. Peak times is when the most actual people are online.

"I'd like to know where all the people are "going", when every place seems abandoned except 20 campers." I'd like to know too

Competition in SL is getting tougher. 'Generic' object selling is getting harder and harder. It's not much different from RL in a growing city. As a consequence we see a lot of real world solutions for this in SL too:
1. Create a 'niche' market and excel in it. Don't be a 'clothes designer'. Be a specialist in 'black leather outfits'. Focus your marketing on a specialty.
2. Marketing/Branding has become a lot more important. Get the word out. Sponsor/do events particular to your business, be mentioned in blogs/articles/newsposts/forums etc.
3. Partner up, either occasionally or permanently, with people in the same field or people selling complimentary items. We see this happening with texture shops, clothes sellers, hair sellers etc. As a community of sellers you can have more time/expenses for advertising, marketing. Have easier control in creating a good location etc.

(and on average they are spending less) Lindex has remained flat for several months now but the past 5 days show a hint of going up I think. But even then, spring saw at least one day hit 80,000,000 sold on the market, we barely make 70,000,000 now if we are lucky.

Aren't sales usually a little on the slow side around about this time of year anyway? People are all at university/college or working so have less time to spend money or use products. Things'll pick up towards Christmas as people buy presents and start to get holidays.

the vat-stunt (breaking eu laws and ripping of thousands of people) and ever decreasing grid/client stability make people think " why would i spend my money on this crap" edit: check the "show land for sale" checkbox on your map. it´s getting more yellow leately
